It’s more just a region based thing in my opinion. I know friends in the pnw who get way more tire life compared to down south. Steep and dry trails are a perfect recipe to wear through tires

from the standpoint of an engineer, if shimano warns you against using low viscosity oil on the old models, it just means they cannot br confident enough that it works to be legally held responsible for the results since they have not tested it. Since brakes are a safety relevant component, a brake manufacturer has to run lots of tests to ensure (a guarantee is technically not possible) safe usage. The old brakes were designed and tested with the standard oil and I can see why shimano has zero motivation to run these (costly) tests for the old brakes while...

I tried it out of curiosity. Works good in normal weather. The minute the temperatures fluctuate either high or low it gets inconsistent

In my opinion Zink’s run is the winner, by far. the difference with other runs on the podium is that it’s « a run ». There’s no pause at all in it, when he starts it’s full commitment, top to bottom. And what a backflip. in my opinion again, brendog second, not close, but well above the others. Bienve maybe not on the podium, but clother to it and fully deserve people choice, spirit, and best trick for sur.

Congrats zink, that result was well deserved. Gnarly top section followed by probably top 3 biggest step down flips in history and a stomped 3 drop.

I was anti-carbon rims for the past five years. After going through endless alloy wheels, I gave these a shot. I have been impressed with ride quality, durability and customer service. I did blow up one rim after about eight months of riding. I upgraded the rim to the Convergence, so I will see how it goes. I think alloy wheels do have their place in the market, especially for those who travel a lot and do not have the option to warranty a wheel while traveling. But it's been nice not having to tension wheels every few months and...

There was a World Cup Enduro race today? Boy has the coverage gone downhill in the last couple years. There used to be articles, interviews, course previews etc. for 2 or 3 days leading up to the race, what gives?

it's a weird balance in my opinion. The minute you drop your bb by 20 mm, now you have a new set of problems - smashing your chainring/bash guard and feet into things you previously didn't have an issue with. Assuming your trails are technical. Now if you're just smashing out bike park laps, then lowering bb and shorter cranks...
