( We generally strongly advise against such combinations. Neither we nor others can guarantee their safe and reliable function. Such combinations have never undergone any official testing or validation.)

No the parts are not compatible. The MT master have 10 mm master piston and the RACE PRO 12 mm. This would result in a lower hydraulic ratio, making the brake really weak. Here’s also a simple phone shot of the two systems for comparison. (note: the reach dial on the RACE is silver in serial. See magura.com)

Anyone have more long term feedback on the trail springs? I’d like to try a kickback device and Rimpact is the only one compatible with non sram cranks now. Sounds like pedaling is a non issue, but curious if it’s a noticeable improvement with the trail springs. Are people sticking with these long term or ditching them once the novelty wears off (like inserts 🙃)

We love the World Cup series! This event is genuinely not intended to compete with this or any other event series. We have plans to add a New Zealand event in 2028, and a third southern hemisphere event to follow. Ultimately this will be a 3 round ‘off season’ series where riders have an opportunity to race year round and earn top prize money. This also gives fans an opportunity for more year round race coverage and broadcast.

Manitou Mattock Pro. Easily maintained at home, easy to do damper changes, stiff enough for a trail bike and I bet lighter than all those other options. I find the best way to limit myself from taking the smaller bike over its head is tires. Put on some fast rolling and slightly sketchy tires and you won’t be tempted to drop into the loose and gnarly stuff, even with burly suspension. Bonus is being shocked with how much faster it is when climbing compared with the big bike. Resist the urge to accidentally make a heavy, slow trail bike!
