2/24/2026 6:53am super interesting to see that even though they kind of acknowledge that a super refined high-tech DH transmission is semi-pointless. They are clear that Dh is the pinnacle of gravity, so the pinnacle of their marketing efforts and it's also a big flex, 'cos they CAN build and sell this drivetrain. Unlike their competitors they have the money/tech/want to make it happen. Interesting.

2/24/2026 6:49am Longer rear centers of course! Really though a longer rear helps quite a bit when climbing and climbing plays an outsize role in xc performance. Personally I think there is really something on the table there.

2/16/2026 7:12am Intend got back to me after I asked about higher offset options and some background on why I think more offset is beneficial for an Enduro bike. Andre said they won't offer other offsets. Maybe if some more people reach out they would consider it but my message was not compelling enough.

2/16/2026 7:10am “Flickable” as a quality imparted by short chainstays is nonsense. Riding from a centered position and through the feet makes any wheelbase/chainstay length more flickable

2/16/2026 7:08am Even the reviewers at Pinkbike noticed the front to rear balance was off. Normally I ride an XL or S5 in their range. That’s a 435 chain stay on a 1286 wheelbase for a e-bike that I’m wanting to climb all the things on. That 1.956 ratio is not going to be great at that without an xc race setup on the front end. I would want a 1235 wheelbase to be in the neighborhood of decent balance in that bike. And don’t get me started on the geo chart for the Levo 4 and how it’s so obviously wrong...

2/13/2026 10:10am Ripley SL next Tuesday. teaser on the Ibis insta, you can see the general shape. This should appease all the dad shredders on MTBR who keep telling me the V5 is too much of a trail bike now.

2/12/2026 7:04am Opening the picture of the maven levers on the sram countdown, the file name is 'new_lever_blades'. Guess we're getting a longer lever for more leverage to overcome friction better and the gold swinglink that does that as well, can't see what else they'd change on the current blade since it feels good. I know p*nkb*ke posted a picture where booker had a different one on his brakes at hardline, but seems like this one's different.

2/11/2026 7:00am Here is your difference in steering bwetween a 70mm stem and a 35mm stem with straight 800mm bars. A video to make the scribbely lines more understandable: https://photos.app.goo.gl/bYf6TE4obQUwvhJG7 As you can see, the rotation diameters are virtually same (406mm vs 401mm). That's about a 1% difference. Your hands will travel about the same amount: 212mm vs. 210mm for a 30° handlebar turn. That's less than a 1% difference. What is slightly different is, of course the the "angle of attack" from which your hand will start moving, but that is because a longer stem will stretch your upper body position...
