I have no issue with software teams using "agile" in whatever the original context was. I have issues with what it became in the corporate world. Over my year long in-house counsel contract, I think I attended 4-5 mandatory "agile" training seminars, and it featured heavily at our multi-day retreat. To this day I'm not really sure what it means, except that the "agile coaches" sound like new-age grifters when given a microphone in front of a crowd of people that are mandated to be there. Worse yet was inevitably after one of these seminar things, I'd be on a...

Love to see it. High rise is the way. Need more options. Curious to try these because of the back sweep but don’t want to lose 5mm compared to my deity 80mm risers as I already wish I could go higher. I think 100 would be the ticket for me. Ergotec risers go to 100mm but are only 780mm wide...

For the people who complain about too many bikes being horst link now--get ready it'll be all of them soon. Being able to easily split the rear triangle makes belt drive possible. Gonna be hard on the sales floor to tell people the chain that needs constant maintenance is better than the belt that doesn't. Maybe another one of the reasons Santa Cruz shifted the bullit/vala away from VPP. Seat post insertion, belt compatibility, and minimizing ugliness; three pretty compelling reasons. I think brands are going to probably be hard pressed to put all their R&D into ebike horst link...

While they're saying this is a test, they added the bolt holes for the idler on all production frames. I couldn't figure out what these were for, until today. Makes me think this "concept" is coming sooner than folks are letting on.

My experience with super softs is about somewhere 2x-3x longer lifespan than Schwalbe and Maxxis' stickiest tires. I really like how they ride, but the durability is what keeps them on my bikes.

Is it just me or do DH casing Conti Kryptotals last 5x longer than Maxxis in the bike park? I'm currently on 20+ park days and these tires still have life in them. I don't think I'll ever buy another Maxxis tire.

I recently picked up an epic evo with codes on it, and was like holy fuck how did we ride these on DH/enduro bikes it can barely slow down this 28 lb XC bike on hiking trails. Came home and put some dominions on the next day. It’s honestly more shocking that a few people didn’t switch over mid season.

That's also because Codes were god awful and the sram riders were so happy to get on an actual brake. I recently felt some older codes on some bikes I was dealing with and they were shockingly worse than I remembered. Say what you will about Shimano brakes, but they've been consistently good for a while.

No no no, don't go there. We've been over this. Just let it go. We've had pages of trying to explain things back and forth with no success.

It’s a vertical shock alignment similar to the old Diamondback Knucklebox design (mentioned above) or a Propain. Nothing to patent. It’s just a Utah County based company thinking it needs overdo marketing as they’re prone to do. Utah is the land of perceived aesthetics.

Some sort of UDH +15mm chainstay standard would fix a lot of XXL bikes.

The dirt up in the PNW is like silk compared to the crap we have down here, which is like 60 grit sandpaper. (I grew up near Seattle, and work in a construction field that deals with boring/excavating.) That, coupled with people wanting to build and ride steep PNW-like trails down here, is a recipe for tire abuse.

Me: Can we stop and get a 6-bar suspension from Yeti? Mom: We've got 6-bar suspension at home: For older Amflows, but I suppose the new ones might be supported as well: https://www.mklinkage.net/

@TEAMROBOT - I remember testing showing CX file treads were slower in almost every application, but still people buy and ride them because they look fast. Btw, while I’m here, I feel like a massive driver of mountain bikers yelling at clouds about product happens when product support doesn’t match the promise. Unhelpful warranties on stuff sold with massive margins, and a consistently terrible pattern of companies refusing to acknowledge issues until suddenly a new model pops up. It makes journalism more important, I get so irate seeing reviewers acknowledge issues in old product they simply refused to when it...

Interesting about the gripping with the knees thing - having beaten the concept of “bike body separation” into my mind for the last decade, this goes against pretty much everything I’ve been working towards. Caveat: I’ve never ridden moto in my life, nor really watched a real moto race while focusing on rider position. On a mtb gripping with your...
