7/2/2026 6:52am As though the the gearbox wasn't also invented in the 1800s... Feel free to hate the lightest, simplest, most serviceable, most efficient method of changing gears on a bicycle that humanity has invented so far, but the rest of us will accept derailleurs where they make sense.

7/2/2026 4:47am I'm definitely in the slack head angle, long chainstays crowd for enduro bikes. But really pretty much every category of bike my tastes vary. But I'd argue geo on a well constructed frame is going to make a bigger factor in your riding experience than kinematics, suspension design, or even your choice of components besides your cockpit (which effects your bikes geo).

7/1/2026 8:15am Radial tires from everyone but Kenda, should create some more skus in rubber, but I don’t expect to see any new treads- except for 32 in tires , which will be weird looking. All new e-bike motors will all have gearboxes, freeing the high pivots but also improving the mid and low pivots : should see new framesets sooner than expected Sea otter, eurobike, and even bespoke already happened so most of the years “hot shit” is already out Shimano still won’t release new saint.

7/1/2026 6:45am I can't think of one company in the bike industry that, in two years, has launched its first-generation product, sold out, released two new drive units, dropped a new bike, and teased a gearbox. If that's me wearing rose-colored glasses, then so be it. The pace of iteration, the "rate of change," is what I'm really keyed in on here. I don't think there's much precedent for it in the bike industry, or the outdoor industry as a whole. It feels more like semiconductors in the '90s than anything bikes have done before. I never claimed the first-gen Amflow was...

6/30/2026 11:09am Buy used, you'll get way better parts on a used bike than a new one for that price. I would avoid a one from a bike park, they can be used and abused, from any mechanic at a bike park I have known maintenance practices can be questionable.

6/30/2026 11:08am Perusing the other site, plenty of second hand recent stuff about. That would be my choice, avoid the battered stuff though, even if its dripping in nice kit..

6/30/2026 3:39am The reason flight attendant has a huge uptake in XC is because SRAM sponsored teams are required to run it. I know four different world cup athletes and they have all said they would just prefer a manual lockout. When it works properly it's alright but it's heavy and frequently has connectivity problems between all the components. It seems more casual users like it with one less thing to think about while riding and the weight doesn't matter to a more casual rider. As for trail/enduro bikes, ever wonder why every single SRAM EWS athlete stopped riding LYRIK and started...

6/30/2026 12:01am I would just try them first before worrying too much. I was just using them for a week, had terrible palm blisters halfway in but never felt anything approaching discomfort where the bar ends contact. If you do need something I'd probably just grab a roll of adhesive open cell foam and replace it often. A more dense foam like neoprene or whatever won't really be much softer than the rubbery bar end material

6/30/2026 12:01am Ck out Amuary's setup, his mechanic just used some felt. I don't think foam would be a good application, probably get ripped off very fast. I use gloves, rubbing friction issues haven't been an issue for me.

6/30/2026 12:00am "Nobody lifts a finger." is a bit of an overstatement. Plenty of people who were there did what they could, which wasn't much since they had other jobs to do and he wasn't gushing blood. They told him it sit down and called the ambulance. He kept standing and waited. Were they supposed to shut down practice and kiss it and make it better? He didn't seem to have any complaints about how it was handled.

6/25/2026 11:42am Reading the article on PB this is more interesting than what is being reported... According to DYEDBro there are 3 main points, with point 1 being: " 1) The co-owner of Dyedbro is also the co-owner of VHS. His partner at VHS attempted to sell the VHS assets out from under him without notice, consent or approval in violation of the VHS shareholder agreement and the law." If true then that does put a different light on this... Could be an interesting one to look into further, but I doubt we'd ever get to see either the shareholder agreement or...

6/25/2026 1:37am Without looking at any numbers for it, I'd assume the link primarily gets used to control leverage curve and the dog bone primarily gets used to correct geo. You may very well have combos where the alterations to the link would produce undesirable geo on their own so a dog bone has to be used with it to get the geo right.
