we did, but you brought it up again. scientifically you could possibly have a point. the data and tests aren't perfectly applicable or limited to a single variable. but is really more likely that everyone's perception is wrong? many people have complained about schwalbe radial rolling resistance and almost everyone has observed it, even if they feel the trade-off is worth it and they won't use anything but a radial now.

I've been on these so long its like waking out of a coma seeing that the alternatives are $200 Only have 3 pairs left and seems like there are only small sizes of the DH left R.I.P.

Ebikes erase hills, headwinds, and polls. DH bike and an eeb. Dealer’s choice on the eeb, they’re all better than every pedal bike. Easy peasy!

"Wider casing overlap under the tread" to me sounds like a less supple tread area. Isn't this also what Schwalbe did with the updated radial gravity casing in order to dial back some of the lack of support? I don't think its as easy as having 2 zones you can independently control that don't influence eachother much. My takeaway from...

I use the e13 ebike bash ring. Ugly but necessary for me and its super cheap to replace 104bcd aluminum chainrings. Didn't matter what material I used before that because the chainring would get smoked on a rock long before it had a chance to wear out

If you look at the hot patch of the Schwalbe sponsored pros, they almost never include the "Radial" text. Another telltale sign when they run "diagnonal" tires is the tread pattern of the Tacky Chan is different in diagonal vs. radial. I've seen them running radials more often in Enduro but big guys like Richie are never on radials.

I put my radial Trail TCs back on after having reverted to HR3 EXO+/ DHR2 DD for a few weeks. Jesus, the squirm/vagueness in the back is sketchy AF. I had forgotten just how weird the radial Trail is in the back. The rear just felt like it was wandering all over when climbing, and then randomly steps out in corners before catching (especially flat corners). Lots of grip, then zero and rapidly sliding, then tons of grip again. For some reason, it doesn't do that on the front for me. It's like the sensation of the dead zone a...

I'd like if someone with actual insider info can comment but my impression is that radial casings are not used much at all in WCDH, certainly nowhere near 'on every podium'. The only time I've actually seen a radial Tacky Chan was on Reece and Hattie's bikes in South Korea. Never seen one on a commencal. I'm not 100% on...

I was under the impression the only thing they don't make in China now is DH casing. The DH soft I bought yesterday in the western US is still made in Germany (though they did fix the yellow hue). Only seen enduro supersofts from China. Nice free tire trick though, all of the China factory contis I've seen are like...

more Schwalbe bitching ahead The 2.5 TC soft I'm trying out in the rear feels unbelievably draggy at any pressure. I do not know why exactly. 2 tires ago I was using a soft Albert and it felt about the same (maybe even better) resistance-wise as a maxxterra DHR or soft kryptotal, but the TC feels really bad, like flat...

You can buy them piecemeal but for some reason they won't sell you a full thing connected with a hose. I guess silver makes more sense, I get turned off by extra adjustments that I don't use but the pivots probably more than make up for that Its funny when you search for mavens on buysell you run into just...
Put the galfer rotors back on with the same pads that kept glazing and they seem fine. Convinced its some weird interaction with the drilled out TRP rotors and the Lewis ones that look suspiciously similar. Whatever, more Mavens it is. I really like the base but may as well try the B1s, are the B1 Bronze OE only? There...
Really struggling with a set of TRPs. The best I've had them feeling was with 2mm galfer rotors and shimano metallic pads, didn't have glazing problems but felt underpowered. Otherwise, every 2.3mm rotor I've tried (2x TRP, most recently tried ones from Lewis) and several different pads (TRP blues, semi-metallics, metallics) have invariably and usually immediately glazed over. This is...

The only thing that really bothers me on modern trail bikes is slack seat tube angles, especially ones that are measured opaquely and you end up over the rear hub despite a claimed 77* effective angle, fortunately its easy to pick out visually. Stumpjumper as notable example. I'm also XL and don't really like chainstays over 445-450 so I sometimes...

I would just try them first before worrying too much. I was just using them for a week, had terrible palm blisters halfway in but never felt anything approaching discomfort where the bar ends contact. If you do need something I'd probably just grab a roll of adhesive open cell foam and replace it often. A more dense foam like...

Been messing around with the wolf tooth ones at the bike park. I don't have arm pump problems but it seems to help with hands cramping up and feels nice in big G-out berms. Staying on my DH bike for sure but I'm not rushing out for more pairs for the trail bikes because I can imagine having the same...
