5/30/2026 12:14pm These green poles are truly one of the worst changes of this post-Red Bull era. While the tapes provided a perfect perspective of the track, making it easier to see the curves and obstacles, these green poles are the opposite, difficult to see, often camouflaged in the green of the vegetation or tree shadows. Take the case of the excellent track in South Korea; the poles are placed like a chess game, making the track super difficult to see... curiously, the tape continues in UCI XCO and in all other world-class Downhill championships as well... before, with the tape, it...

5/30/2026 12:14pm While I don’t think Jackson would have been saved from going out from having poles with tape, I do think they need to bring it back. Any time there is a crest with a corner after your shooting in the dark and having to use visual markers in the background to know where to go. The stall wall is a good example, riders can’t see where to aim because the poles are a foot tall. Dak also mentions MSA had a ton of these last year, making it really hard.

5/30/2026 9:27am I don't buy it. Tiny little poles make it significantly more difficult to visualize course boundaries and influences the course boundaries themselves. Maybe one could say making things harder is a good thing but I find it sort of artificial and silly

5/30/2026 8:46am I hope this spurs riders and teams to complain about the poles enough to get them thrown into the trash heap of terrible ideas forever

5/17/2026 11:38am Check the number on the back of yours. Different kits for rev 0-3, 4, and 5. 05 and 04 kits are out of stock everywhere but SRAM will have 05 kits next month. I didn't ask about 04 or before but someone else who did told me they got offered a discount on a new one since new kits weren't...

5/12/2026 4:00pm How about we you just post the data. Its been spoken about a lot but I haven't seen it. Would be cool to see actual numbers. Rolling resistance, impact resistance across the skus.

5/12/2026 10:53am Long time lurker, first time poster here. For some background I’m an aerospace composites engineer and spent several years in Advanced Product Development with an emphasis on environmentally friendly materials. There’s so much to get into on this topic and if folks are interested I’d love to start a dedicated thread on materials and environmental impacts. The TLDR is, carbon fiber as a green product on its own is a fallacy. The raw fiber production may result in a certain level of carbon sequestering, but the process is still so energy intensive I wouldn’t call it an environmental positive. As...

5/12/2026 10:16am I'm curious what you feel with the mixed setup? It looked to me like this was more common than not on WC bikes. I personally like it on all of my bikes but there's a chance that's an issue with an unrefined palate

5/3/2026 12:07pm Seems undeniably the new Romy. Nobby nic speedgrip / romy trail soft on my 130 bike. Didn't realize how nobby the nic was so in hindsight would have gone with something faster but the Romy on the front is working good. For those who have tried the new TC, when would you choose it over a Mary in the front...

4/28/2026 1:03pm Are less oChain options an innovation? I might not know the meaning of the word "innovation" if it is?

4/28/2026 9:22am New service kits are not backwards compatibility to previous “A1” models, per SRAM. They say it’s due to new unified internals but I haven’t pulled an old & new one apart to spot the exact compatibility issues. They did say they will continue stocking old service kits into the future.

4/28/2026 8:47am I've successfully run a 30t amazon chainring on an OChain R. I don't remember if I had to file down any material or not but that should be the only thing stopping you, the chain shouldn't contact the spider. @Jason_Schroeder, do you know if the service kits are backwards compatible?

4/8/2026 9:11am I'm super picky about grips and have a bin full of the ones I didn't like, what I landed on is Peaty's mushroom/thick. They are a bit thinner than meaty paws, about the same size as PNW XL but have what feels like more (and softer) rubber than both. The underside/finger ribs part seems to help out with grip more...

4/7/2026 9:30am According to continental, endurance compound is between rapid and grip in terms of rolling resistance but worse than both in terms of grip/damping. I just happened to have the Xynotal in the pile, Dissector 2 seems like a much better option for a fast-ish front

4/6/2026 8:03pm What I managed to throw together for the new pedal bike was a Trinotal rear and Xynotal E soft front. The trail casing on the Trinotal was way too flimsy as I expected, put a hole in it immediately. Almost as good as anything grip-wise on sand/granite though I suppose what I'm waiting for is the "Roamy", whatever that ends...

3/31/2026 4:23pm Ok but please do hurry. The only spare 27.5 I have is a 600g RaceKing and I don't know how long that will last me, or how it will feel to be less than half the weight of the front tire 🙂
