pejzaż Added a reply to THICK grips

I'm super picky about grips and have a bin full of the ones I didn't like, what I landed on is Peaty's mushroom/thick. They are a bit thinner than meaty paws, about the same size as PNW XL but have what feels like more (and softer) rubber than both. The underside/finger ribs part seems to help out with grip more...

According to continental, endurance compound is between rapid and grip in terms of rolling resistance but worse than both in terms of grip/damping. I just happened to have the Xynotal in the pile, Dissector 2 seems like a much better option for a fast-ish front

What I managed to throw together for the new pedal bike was a Trinotal rear and Xynotal E soft front. The trail casing on the Trinotal was way too flimsy as I expected, put a hole in it immediately. Almost as good as anything grip-wise on sand/granite though I suppose what I'm waiting for is the "Roamy", whatever that ends...

Ok but please do hurry. The only spare 27.5 I have is a 600g RaceKing and I don't know how long that will last me, or how it will feel to be less than half the weight of the front tire 🙂

Hey guys. I've settled on Kryptotal rear/MM radial for all my current bikes but I'm throwing together a 5010 and I'm clueless about the world of tires below dh casings. Any recommendations for fast rolling dry (desert dry) tires? I was thinking Forekaster v2 rear, Dissector v2 front, though I wish the Forekaster could be had in a dual compound...

Must be for Kolb to run 27.5 on XL frame?

Jeff, This is very cool and you can count me in as a user. I do not use strava because I simply find it too bloated/convoluted (and to be perfectly honest, a bit kookish) for the features I want: racing against myself and others on well-defined courses. I had considered making something myself once you-know-what happened and made creating software...
Shimano EP6 lasted 2000 mi with no issues before selling. Current Fazua is at 1500 mi without replacing. There does seem to be some sort of issue with the torque sensor though, maybe once every several rides it will get confused for a minute and cut out or start jerking. This hasn't bothered me quite enough to go through the...

I don't think its an Ari for other reasons, but that alone shouldn't rule it out, a recent-ish dh prototype has a vertical layout of some sort. To my eye, the only production bike it closely resembles is an Airdrop Slacker (with bottle cage bosses for some reason). My contribution, based on nothing, is the possibility of a Santa Cruz...
Yeah the geometry change is the worst part, 7° fits me the best but I gave up a while ago since 40mm is the highest currently rise you can get. Worse yet, almost everything 60mm+ is 9° or more. I find this strange because taller people will generally want less backsweep. This sorta gets to your point about the relationship...

I honestly DGAF which diameter it is as long as it feels good and the geometry is ok. That said, the best combination for me is the OneUp v2 / eBar in 35mm rise, which is only 35mm dia. I have tried Renthal 31.8s and actually prefer their 7 degree sweep, but those things kill my hands so fast... like, I swapped them on, every other component the same, without changing anything else on my bike and my hands were so smoked each ride that I took them off after 2 rides. I want to see more 7 degree sweep...

Agreed, I've also had trouble telling the difference between 31.8mm apples and 35mm apples, namely aluminum Renthal apples. Clamp diameter strikes me as a pointless debate since design intent always seems to shine through, unless there is none. I am curious if anyone has tried and can report on the new 50-70mm Renthals though? The 820mm uncut width is slightly...
Its worth looking at emoto stems since they are the same thing with perhaps a bit more weight to allow for heavy-handed wrenching. Most are quite short, though they never seem to display just how short. The only one I've found with a true zero offset is for 1 1/8" bars, even though most are for 31.8
