Anybody else here have time on a Cane Creek Tigon yet? I’ve been curious about it since it came out (when I had a Stumpjumper Evo), and just finally picked one up for the V3 Sentinel. Honestly the most notable thing so far is how extremely normal it feels, even with a decent amount (10PSI so far) in the ramp chamber. I really like CC’s philosophy of “set sag, start with adjusters in the middle” because it feels less like you’re deviating from the suggested setup as you dial things in.

While racing bros did produce some very questionable "race" seals before, lycan seals are very good and preferred by many suspension service/tuning shops in Europe. Cane creek used to use them in first gen. Helm forks as well, I used them for 3 years, no excess oil was coming out, nor any dirt ever made it's way in. The new skf DC seals however, well they leave a lot of mess behind from new, went back to racing bros and all is good again.

I ran SKF DC seals on my last gen Zeb after the local suspension guy raved about them. I was less impressed. Yeah they feel really slippery new, but they seemed to build up oily crud on the top more than the black SKF / Rockshox seals, and the lower oil seemed to get blacker faster. Also noticed that the grease around the orange part of the seal changed color and thickened up in the instances where I was dropping lowers more often than service interval (changing fork travel), which led me to think that the orange part is a...

I am not expecting the CC to be better than Intend, I just hope it's closer to Intend's performance than to 38mm RSD alternatives, with more practical & affordable ownership. Btw the oil in my Essential still had the original color when I "dropped the lowers" after a year of riding and I am not seeing much of a gunk on the legs either. I am guessing the Racing Bros seals do a better job than SKF.

Ok gang... I need the collective group think to help talk me into or out of yolo'ing a USD fork for a whistler trip I leave for in a week. My reasons are mostly stupid... As a follow-up to my questions earlier in this thread, I ended up getting a flash 38 with 20mm axle (was debating between a flash/infinity/dorado). I'm with Robot and ebruner. I voted trail + enduro and that's pretty much my setup. I have an Ibis Ripley V5 (130/140) and an Ibis HD6 (165/180). The Ripley can be run 29" front and rear or MX and the HD6 is MX only. I have a dedicated set of fairly light 29" wheels, a set of DH strength MX wheels, and a set of MX enduro wheels that float between the two. At the extremes they are 5 or 6lbs apart and with the enduro wheels they are probably 2 or 3lbs apart. It's a pretty good spread...

A 170 with burly everything and a 120 or 130mm true trail bike with medium-weight everything. If I can have one more, it's a dirt jumper, and if I get four I'm adding a DH bike. But medium is as light as I can go. I can't have light things because I break them.

I have a Flash 35, been on it about 9 months or so. Mine has the Travelizer, which I think is brilliant, but I can also see why they got rid of it. The only downside to the fork is getting that setup correctly, it took a lot of fiddling for me to get it to lock into place and I ended up having it set at like 172mm or something odd like that because it would not lock at 170.
