3/7/2026 9:33am Grid Trail is in my experience less protective but more supple, with better feel than the Conti Enduro. As far as softness/grip goes, I’d place T9 and T7 as softer than the Conti compounds, but not quite as soft as MaxxGrip and MaxxTerra respectively.

1/27/2026 1:24pm Most fat biking is in low tide snow, so you still get rocks and roots that sometimes poke out. Also fat tires are undamped suspension, and they bob quite a bit on hard pack. Annoyingly so. Plus there is tire squirm, rim bottom out on hard compressions, etc. Really, not that different from normal sized tires.

1/21/2026 9:29am Undoubtedly they would. Unfortunately it’s just not a big enough sector of the market to ever happen.

1/10/2026 5:39pm The Argotal is a perfect tire for the conditions I love to ride. Pretty much all the local trails are concrete-hard flow and jump lines though, so it’s extremely sketchy to run something like that most of the summer here. Vigilante, Butcher, or Magic Mary radial do best here.

1/10/2026 5:37pm My experience mirrors yours that the Argotal in 2.6 on a 35 internal rim is an absolutely horrible tire for cornering grip on hardpack. The knobs fold over so soon that it makes you unable to corner aggressively when your trails are rock and hardpack. On soft surfaces, the Argotal is really good. My experience with the Kryptotal and Assegai is that they're both worse than DHF/DHR on rock/hardpack, but the Assegai is passable while the Kryptotal still folds the shoulder lugs too easily.

1/10/2026 5:25pm This is the best I’ve ever seen this bike or the yellow Ohlins look, especially cause it looks like you actually ride it.

1/10/2026 3:01pm Anyone heard more news about Tacky Chan Radial lately? Excited to keep running MM radial up front, but would love something faster and more precise than Albert for the rear. I may stash that tire and go to the old stock Trail Boss/Vigi I have for a while until the TC comes out.

1/10/2026 2:58pm Hopefully, what’s upping the stoke in 2026 is just not overdoing it. With training for a 250 mile race (now complete) I honestly just rode way too much last year. Feel free to play the worlds tiniest violin if you must, but our smallish local trail network is best suited for up to 3 days of riding per week at...

10/12/2025 5:31pm That being the case - does that mean the EVO blades would fit a Tech 4 lever? I want a more hooked blade.

9/30/2025 2:33pm Well, the 'Lever' refers to the entire assembly, whilst the bit that your finger moves is called the 'lever blade,' It's been this way since forever, SRAM, Shimano, Clarkes and so on all call the movable part of the lever the blade. It's just how it is. Alternatively we can call it the lever and then when you're ordering one you have to explain you want the lever for your lever but not the whole lever.

9/30/2025 2:33pm I guess it's because people tend to refer to brakes by levers and calipers. But the lever is made up of the lever body (with the pistons and other gubbins) and the, well, you can't call it a lever lever, so I suppose it's a lever blade...

9/26/2025 1:10pm Very interesting. Could be a good tire for my Sentinel. Maybe EXO+ MG front, Doubledown MT rear.
