Been running Tigon on my Levo Gen 3 since Feb 2025 (bought BF 2024). It has been good, and even better since I moved to Cascade links with the same shock. I'm running 30psi, and maybe a slightly less stiff spring than I should. That keeps the shock deeper in travel - love it on Santa Cruz steeps - but still feeling bottomless. I definitely enjoy it better than the Kitsuma DB I also have (both coil and air) - I guess I never could configure those to match Tigon feeling. Quality-wise, it's a typical CC suspension product, I guess...

Anybody else here have time on a Cane Creek Tigon yet? I’ve been curious about it since it came out (when I had a Stumpjumper Evo), and just finally picked one up for the V3 Sentinel. Honestly the most notable thing so far is how extremely normal it feels, even with a decent amount (10PSI so far) in the ramp...
Something I’ve been wondering lately - why do I like the Tech 4 V4s so much better than the Tech 4 E4? I had the E4s on my short travel bike, V4s on the long travel bike for consistency, but recently swapped the short travel bike to DHR Evo Pros (after various issues with the E4s over a few seasons)...

I think I need a grippier tread for the front of my SST. Currently I’m running dual WTB Peacekeepers (high grip front/fast rolling rear), but I need more grip at the front wheel especially. I’d love to have something similarly fast rolling, but especially as conditions get a bit dustier, I don’t feel like I have the hold I need...

Had a pretty big ride on the new 2.4 Trail Romy radial, just because it’s quite a bit shorter than the Albert I went up 1 psi, I’m impressed by the grip, after the first ride it measures 60mm knob to knob, gained 2mm from when freshly mounted. It rolls considerably faster than the Albert, I can make it drift/slide without forcing it with the brakes unlike the Albert, still great traction on tech/slippery climbs and great braking traction on the way down too, really nice tyre

I tried the non-radial TC as a front tire, and found the extreme ramping and wide spacing to cause it to carve either left or right instead of tracking straight, and far too much transition gap unless you went “full commit”. However, I am really excited to try the radial 2.5 up front - I think it will be better...

Sure can, sticky linkage will throw sag measurements off, measuring sag can be even used to estimate if your bearings need service. Good guide is published in motorcycle suspension bible.

Could delayed service on the linkage/shock cause sag to display improperly? This season my Sentinel seems like it’s riding better at 27% sag, which last season was way too firm. It’s also seen plenty of inclement weather and wet conditions between last fall and this spring, so I’m wondering if the stiction there is causing a discrepancy between static sag...

I’m currently running a Magic Mary Radial with a Romy Diagonal in the rear, and I like how much zippier it feels vs the radial Albert with the same compound. I have a TC radial to potentially replace the Mary up front coming in a week or so, so I can let you know if you haven’t decided by then.
I think it’s also probably taller riders hitting the limits on wheelbase. If the brand is committed to long reaches already, they might only be testing an XL front triangle with a long mule rear triangle, and the thing the test riders are reacting to is that the wheelbase is way longer than they like. I think the inverse of this is when brands started doing long reaches, all the tall riders (including me) loved that because all of a sudden the wheelbase was more proportional to the rider height and I didn’t feel like a circus bear as much.

I’ve got ~100mi and ~20k ft of vert on the new Tacky Chan Trail Pro Radial 2.5 Softs now, and they’re my new favorite tire. Finding the right pressure took some work, but at 33/30 they hit the right balance of support and grip. They just straight hook up in the loose stuff, are really predictable on turn-in, and roll freakishly fast. As a “I hate Albert, all my homies hate Albert” guy, I definitely did not expect this, but here we are.

I feel this way about my Starling Murmur as well. It's simple, reliable, and a fun neutral frame to test out new parts on - changes in the rear shock are especially noticeable and the adjustable shock mount is a nice feature.

If she’s anything like my wife, give her the previous tire combo that she used.

I hope the radial 2.4 does the same at a beautiful 30psi

First ride with the Romy Trail Pro Diagonal Soft (what are we, Maxxis?) was a success! With the radial Magic Mary up front, it reminds me of a modernized version of my benchmark Vigilante Light/High Grip and Trail Boss Tough/Fast Rolling combo from WTB. It’s no XC tire, but it gives the Sentinel the pep I’d been missing when it...
