I don’t have any questions but would like you to bring up the café Roubaix situation and make them uncomfortable thanks.

You can always remove the cable fixing bolt and find the groove/path that Shimano wants you to orient the cable in. That or si.shimano.com and look at the docs.

Yeah this almost deserves it's own thread, Mert is one of THE greats and made a huge contribution to the mountain bike world that most people probably don't realise these days. On Any Sunday still holds up as one of the greatest sports movies ever, and the opening shot of Mert walking down the street with a suit then smash cuts to onboard footage of his flattrack racer is brilliant. RIP

my 2 cents after spending some time on the bike is that I really want to spend more time on the bike. A couple anecdotes here: I was surprised at how well it pedalled and the lack of heft that I was expecting after looking at it. After giving it back for a month I had to film on it with no time to get familiar again. First trail was a rapid North Van classic that I have ridden a bunch and I was immediately sending it. It was extremely poppy while still being planted, able to pull for all...

You are not wrong. If People For Bikes spent 1/4 as much advocating for safe routes to school as they did lobbying for Ebike access in skeptical communities, the shrinking American bicycle market might be expanding. Instead we seem laser focused on selling stuff to the same 10% of the population over and over again, each time with an extra battery or two.

You must not have ever ridden moto. Using the rear brake in the air is a definite technique to bring the front end down a bit.

It may not be a "whole separate sport", but there sure is a "whole separate text thread" for the e-bike riders in my friend circle. Now we rarely have big group rides as the crew is split in two and it's a pain to ride laps with both bike types together. So I'd say its a "whole different discipline" of pedaling a rolling thing with your feet.

I think that's sort of the point, the only metric anyone cares about is the motor. The essence of riding an eBike is what the motor gives you. The rest of the "bike" part takes a back seat. And no one seems to care, even though the slippery slope foreboding was waved away as an irrational fear

I just bought one of these frames. It is hilariously fun. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It makes you a rider instead of a passenger. Less plowing, all playing.

As a mere mortal I found I liked the Continental DH casing more after it “broke in.” It was too stiff for me when they were new.
