Recently learned how hands-off Transition is for manufacturing. They basically do the industrial design and pivot layout then the factory does the rest. No in-house composite engineer or stress analysts at least double checking what the factory is doing. I know they’re not unique in this, but they’re charging a lot for what is basically a Transition shaped catalog frame. They give a lot back to the riding community here, so as a local it’s a little easier to stomach, but if I were outside Washington it would be a much harder sell.

That seems like a wild leap to make - are you assuming because a designer lives in asia they don't ride mountain bikes? It probably helps for the lead designer to be living right near the factory they are made so I don't see what you're getting at there?

Anne-Caro competed in the events that are the pinnacle of the sport. Jill at the behest of sponsors ran around to all the Crankworx novelty events and cleaned up vs weak competition. Jill’s a great athlete with amazing bike handling but whenever she went to DH or Enduro events, her results were blah. ACC is goat, Rachel is next.

My gut reaction is Sam Hill. Much like many of the other folks have said, there is something about how Sam went about becoming one of the greatest gravity racers of all time, rather than the number of titles he holds, that makes him the GOAT. @sspomer and @Jason_Schroeder I just listened to the recent Inside Line pod where y'all were perplexed by the Avinox haters. I wanted to provide some honest insight into this: for many of us, it's because they're higher power than Class 1 and we worry that they're going to jeopardize e-bike trail access. I'd like to see DJI and Specialized eat dirt since they don't care one iota about trail access dynamics. People often blame motor resistance for the difficulty pedalling over the cut-off but IMO it's very little to do with that. It's more to do with your legs instantly having to double, triple or quadruple their output once the to motor drops. If you are riding at 24.99kmh with 150w of your own power and 350w from the motor (i.e. 500w in total) then once you hit 25kmh your are going to need to put that 500w+ by yourself to maintain that speed. The only motor on that graph that has enough resistance to cause an issue is the MGU...

Man I hope that the new enduro sells super well, I couldn't care less about specialized but if a non ebike in that travel range sells well it should wake the industry up that there is actually demand for those bikes.

This is what worries me. I get the technical benefits of putting a kid on an ebike, but at the same time they're going to see that you don't need to put in the effort to get to the top. Just another shortcut in life that's so popular these days. Maybe if you could limit it to a certain level and not have any assist levels, only on or off, but it will still be a pain when they go to a regular bike. Which they will have to if they want to race for example. IMO it's too much...

A 170 with burly everything and a 120 or 130mm true trail bike with medium-weight everything. If I can have one more, it's a dirt jumper, and if I get four I'm adding a DH bike. But medium is as light as I can go. I can't have light things because I break them.
