6/16/2025 4:14pm Proper enforcement will be impossible, so the authorities are eventually going to make it simple - no wheeled vehicles on mixed use trails at all anywhere near urban areas or in popular outdoor locations, regardless how powered. Slippery slope? We'll see.

6/4/2025 2:12pm Here's how roller wear manifests as elongation. Though it's perhaps inaccurate this elongation is colloquially referred to as 'stretch'.

6/2/2025 10:37pm I would think the rear would heat up more than the front because of how you use them. Front brake hard and intermittent and rear brake is more constant for speed management, thus not allowing it to cool. I’m surprised it gets that hot in 3 minutes but I guess it's super high intensity.

5/13/2025 12:13pm What even is the deal with evil bikes these days? I saw some talk of them going tits up but they seem to have not, but it’s been pretty radio silent from them regarding anything new for a while now…

5/5/2025 3:22pm One of my favourite things about this thread is the the mix of people commenting. One one hand people who seem to have behind the scenes knowledge vaguely referring to things they know to be true but can't say, and people with no idea of the actual details confidently stating things they have no direct knowledge of. This is what keeps me coming back. Keep it coming

5/1/2025 3:14pm Well the race to moto these is on, which sucks. I've ridden exclusively e-bikes for 2 years due to injury/surgery, so not saying this as a hater, but as a long-time trail builder/advocate. I'd like to see some large jurisdiction clamp down on specs. Limit peak, momentary torque to 85Nm (plenty!) and peak output to 650 watts (plenty!). Require that if it's going to be sold here and has pedals, it must be limited to the Class 1 specs. Sorry, you don't need to go 50kph/30mph on an e-bike. You don't need to soft pedal up a 20% grade. Get...

4/26/2025 3:18pm It's the Walmart method. Price yourself just enough lower than everyone else for comparable goods that some consumers will get on-board...and then wait. Mom & pop stores will eventually close and you can raise your prices. If you have the cashflow to survive it - it doesn't hurt to have a large enough scale that you can get product on the shelves cheaper than others can and sacrifice a little bottom line in the shorter term - it's literally just a matter of time. Keep lowering prices and your profit margin in the short term to close the other brands...

4/26/2025 2:55pm You just adjust your technique. If you rode exclusively high pivots for a while, then hopped on a more traditional design, it would immediately feel very strange the other way too.

4/22/2025 8:50am Not really a tech rumour but a tech wish: since we’ve somewhat stabilized on geo development and are looking at new ways to innovate, can companies put more effort into silencing bikes? It’s kind of embarrassing that a $10k bike sounds like a shopping cart.

4/20/2025 10:08am Hey everyone, this is TJ. Tariffs aren't fixed to factory cost, or wholesale or retail. They're calculated based on the specific transaction price. The example we used is accurate for an ecomm purchase, shipped from our warehouse in Canada. If a retailer ordered the same short and we charged them half the price ($100), the same tariff percentage would apply, so tariffs would be $145 for a total cost to the retailer of $245. If the retailer sells that short to a customer and maintains their dollar margin the short would be $345 to the end user - however if...

4/20/2025 10:05am Juliana going away would not surprise me at all. It's belt tightening that makes sense. All they are is literally SC bikes with different paint, different shock tunes, and different touch point components. So a lot of exposure in terms of inventory that tends to move slow. That said, hopefully SC carries the lighter tunes over onto their smallest sizes, and brings back XS on some of their trail bikes to cover that gap. A buddy just bought a Bronson 4.1 XS for his kid and is stoked on it - better geometry and components than dedicated kids bikes of...

4/20/2025 10:05am I'd highly (highly) doubt this is real; double checked, passes aren't available in Canada as Chris mentioned, Vail is a US company and the tariff thing way too up in the air. If anything, they'd want to sell them now before we get in some slap fight with Canada and they make tourism hard. Can we go back to 2015 again? (but with today's bikes)

4/15/2025 2:40pm "tell me you started riding within the last 5 years without telling me you started riding within the last 5 years." all joking aside, yes its an older compound. while a good compound, definitely not used as much anymore, as maxxis has since released better offerings.
