Hey all, I can finally take off my very sneaky blue tape camouflage to reveal that yes, I’m reviewing the new Nomad. Because I’ve spent so many years on the old Megatower, I’m framing this as a Megatower vs. Nomad comparison. My carbon Optic with XT, air springs and no inserts is 8lb heavier than the first Tempo build I clicked on in the bike checks section. Lol.

What Avinox pulled off is impressive engineering but I would have rather seen them stay in the 90-100 Nm Range and therefore make the motor smaller und lighter. Having a Bosch CX4 bike myself (Canyon Strive:ON) I really don't miss more power but less weight would be really appreciated.

Curmudgeon moment incoming, my apologies: This is exactly the reason I don't give a shit about motocross or cars or a million other things. I 100% don't give a shit about numbers. Ya know, I'm changing my tune about 32" wheels. I don't really have all that much interest in owning a 32" bike, and I fully expect most, if not all of the first 32" bikes to not be in my wheelhouse... But right now, I'd kill for anything that isn't related to an ebike to read about. Never before have I yearned to digest some bike stuff that just involved the measly 250w that I struggle to put out. So... bring on the 32" content please, I am primed and ready for it.

Well, turns out the manufacturer of such shiny products, happens to be engineers themselves, and after testing and comparisons came to the conclusion that, with their design, the difference in stiffness between the 15 and 20 was only 4% a % that can easily be offset with the right choice of hub rather than something random like most people run ( see Yeti and their podium builds with dt 350 ) After riding the Edge with the 15mm axle and i9 hydra 2 front hub, I came to the conclusion that I don’t need a 20mm axle and the pain...

The Chinese play dirty? Have we not come to the point where we realize all money guys play dirty? It’s called “being good at business,” unfortunately. I know we were taught differently but dude.
