5/14/2026 1:53am My prediction of super enduro bikes with dual crowns has yet to pay out, but it will. Mark my words.

5/13/2026 8:44pm Just like GP forums, I swear. Where's that new specialized again? Patent for the 170mm design lodged in 2023 iirc. Enduro is going through a multilayered image crisis, but still the largest segment of bikes within my friend group. Meanwhile dual sus single crown overall still seeing plenty of updates. Did rider perception/wants/needs change or should the definition of enduro...

5/7/2026 3:58pm Excellent 👌 What a great way to display the sport. Some questions/wall of text if you have time; Do you have an opinion on viability of obtaining this kind of footage for EDR rounds and how it might be best used for promotion/racing packages? Do you see any obstacles with the speed of following male racers in top 10? Any...

5/4/2026 6:44pm Squamish enduro from yesterday. Local race but a few EDR racers use it as a preseason benchmark with a couple of National champs and the women’s world champ lining up. Props to the filmers as this got posted 2 hours after the podium. Jonathan Helly and Elly Hoskins took the top steps.

5/4/2026 6:50pm Another one bites it.. Could you pay an ex pro, ala Melamed as hes done in Squamish, to run an ebike, chase current EDR pros for as much footage as he can muster on world cup stages, dropping off sd cards at liaisons for quick uploads. Follow a different pro each stage etc. Would be easier for this to work...

2/24/2026 1:46am That's pretty funny. The whole discussion is completely meaningless without camber/rocker/sidecut/stiffness/width/area being taken into account. Almost as meaningless as this thread i suppose. You can chunk up bike design into fairly separate parts - geo/wheel path, kinematics, stiffness.. to a point anyway, they're still very interconnected obviously. But you can nail one and not the other. Ski design is holistic voodoo, everything is connected to everything else.

2/23/2026 5:19pm The answer has to be no. Its all personal preference, what you're comfortable with and that which you are accustomed to.

2/23/2026 4:06pm When I say that long chainstays can feel like “a lot to turn,” I’m using colloquial language based on how they are often described by non‑Cahal believers. What I actually mean is slightly more specific. If we treat the head tube as a pivot point and assume identical front centres, then comparing two bikes: one with a short rear centre...

2/23/2026 10:39am Flick-ability could likely be definable along a spectrum based on the amount of input force needed to change the direction of the bike. How this direction change is defined or quantified would be situation dependent and further define what is flick-ability for each person. However, the concept remains the same. If your goal is to perform a moto-whip in the air, a bike that takes 10N of force to throw the back end sideways would be more flick-able than a bike that takes 100N of force. You could then assess what variables on the bike affect that required force, i.e...

2/23/2026 9:19am Shorter rear centre (chain stay) means heavier weight bias over the rear. Long rear centre will induce naturally occuring oversteer more often than short. Try two of the above in fast flat gravel turns and the difference is immediate. Flickable comes from the idea that a bikes rear end is more easily manipulated around tight obstacles. With short chain stays...

10/29/2025 11:36am I'm not 100% opposed to that idea, but I think it comes with a few caveats. A shorter final will make for a better media product, but overall worse for us hardcore fans. That would have to come with Youtube live Q2, so you can still have a chance to watch your favorite riders. And the tracks would have to be more difficult with impressive features if you're really trying to catch the barely interested TV viewer. Then you will need more non-endemic sponsors because Larry watching channel 23 doesn't give a shit about which suspension brand offers the most...

8/6/2025 3:19pm Now I want to solve bike design as much as the next guy but after that description of pedal kickback and finally watching the video, I gotta ask..
