Came to say the same thing. Sam is a legend, however he is pretty quiet on the socials, does the odd race, man of few words, isnt proactively chasing media and doing the moto life with his sons. Not really what a brand would be looking for in an ambassador.

don‘t get me wrong sam hill is a legend, but what does he bring to a bike company these days? no content on youtube or any other social platform. should he get a ride/contract/money because he‘s sam hill? i also don‘t get the feeling that he‘s into product development either.

I don't think the point is valid at all. If WB were so keen to get rid of the "Red Bull Era" then they would have cut all ties from 2023 on. But instead they were happy to increase the RB branding and presence between 23 and 25. Red Bull media house (who broadcast the WC series before) and Red Bull the energy drink brand are not the same company. Connected yes, but not the same. I was just commenting on how it was fairly clear that WBD hadn't made a clear and targeted effort to delete the RB brand from WCs over the last 3 seasons. While I agree with some of your other points and disagree with others. The one thing that is clear is that many older MTBers or more seasoned WC fans want things that are somewhat mutually exclusive and/or contrary to what people claimed to want during the UCI/RBTV era. For example; Sport needs outside sponsors but also must remain totally "core". DH needs new venues and tracks - but when...

One of the cooler things I’ve seen at a World Cup is Sven giving tips to one of those “locals” who clearly looked up to him. Even told him something like I’ll keep my eye out for ya at msa. I guess I just like the sport that’s encouraging folk to participate rather than talk about their credentials. As well as the sport where a racer could participate until they decided to quit or that success came. No I don’t think there’s 5 people at the top. But i do think 500 is a lot of money for some people...

i dont know how things play out for Ed...
