5/5/2026 4:46pm Can we get some kind of chat/interview with RMU? Curious on many of their decisions with this bike. Superboost, hp flex stay (I assume very close design to the pivot phoenix) among others. Not saying one standard is better than the other; just curious why they did what they did, especially in the current bike market.

5/5/2026 4:42pm I have a true love/hate relationship with the microspline, I really prefer the gear ratio of the MS over Sram, the 45t second gear is the perfect ratio for me, I use the granny bailout gear on maybe three occasions a year. But beyond that, it's a massive pain in the ass, the lockring will strip if you ever need to reinstall them, I'll drop the cassette nearly every time I remove it and then spend the next 15-20min looking for all the cogs and spacers, then remembering what spacer goes where... totally unnecessary. Recently got a new MS wheelset...

5/5/2026 3:43pm For the same pad, same brakes, same rotors, same downhill, same tire/dirt/bike/you name it etc, a 200lb rider will fade a given brake faster than a 130lb rider, this is just physics. Yes they are interchangeable, no that does not make any difference whatsoever in the statement made by 63expert. This has nothing to do with the fluids boiling or...

5/5/2026 5:47am Spomer was LitterMag aka Gordo aka...the Hoff-maker. . He started as a hyper stoked grom photog who took blue sky pics of West Coast legends. He'd cross post on RideMonkey, MTBR & other forums to pull people in. Back when we were all hyper stoked on the sport blowing up & Spomer was by far the most positive & hyped of us all. And the king of "The Hoff Word Bubble".e need to bring that back to the galleries along with LitterOTB @sspomer

5/4/2026 4:41pm Not sure what "actual data" is required but...let's use maven (noted red) and motive (noted green), both sram brakes, as an example. At the start of the stroke, the motives have a lighter pull to start biting, so there's a data point for that (bottom left green). The mavens are going to take a bit more to get going, so bottom...

5/4/2026 7:33am Yes and no. The amount of brake torque applied to stop a rider from a given speed to a desired speed is not the same for different weights. We are going to massively simplify here and assume everyone rides the same on the same tires, rotors, pads etc.. In the graph below the 3 horizontal lines are a gross simplification...

5/4/2026 6:44am After watching a couple of his reviews I found the biggest caveat to be that we just don't weigh the same. Iirc Dale weighs 130-ish pounds. What works for his weight and his type of riding is not likely to translate over to the viewer. I do believe he is very transparent on what he thinks, while also being a...

4/28/2026 8:52am Yeah, go ahead and put a 29 x 2.3 tire on a 700c road bike. Hell go try to put a 45C tire on a road bike. Hell some road bikes won’t even clear a 32. I don’t know what the hell you guys are trying to say but you’re wrong and it has nothing to do with the fact that 32 inch wheels are than 29. If you are a racer there is no chance in hell that you are going to leave speed on the table. Our sport will continue to evolve so long as people keep racing...

4/21/2026 2:15pm I think this is as close to a „for racing purposes only“ bike we’ll get from specialized. Who is the realistic target group for this? A few age groupers, the occasional dentist and maybe some kids sponsored by their rich parents. The ones who want it will buy it anyways, other than that I see it as an engineering exercise and podium representation at the World Cup for spesh. Low production numbers, complex molds and layup, high structural requirements and engineering costs, it was never gonna be price competitive and i don’t think specialized will care about the hardtail dad...

4/21/2026 6:33am Can you please not drag your abrasive views on world situation into every damn topic? We're talking about bikes not world politics. As for the new Demo and Sram drivetrain thingamajiggy, will it be available for other brands besides Specialized too? Does it circumvent DWs twochainz patent?
