Here's a crazy stat: now that Luca's won a race, there are at least 20 active senior men's racers (editor's note: 21) who've won at least one World Cup DH round. Could me more, so please let me know if I missed anyone. That's a pretty competitive field. In no particular order:

  1. Andreas Kolb
  2. Benoit Coulanges
  3. Troy Brosnan (3)
  4. Aaron Gwin (20)
  5. Luca Shaw
  6. Amaury Pierron (13)
  7. Asa Vermette
  8. Loic Bruni (12)
  9. Danny Hart (4)
  10. Loris Vergier (7?)
  11. Lucas Meier-Smith
  12. Finn Iles
  13. Jordan Williams
  14. Martin Maes
  15. Thibaut Daprela (2)
  16. Jordan Goldstone (7)
  17. Remi Thirion
  18. Reece Wilson
  19. Oisin O’Callaghan
  20. Matt Walker (UK)
  21. Ronan Dunne (2) [remembered thanks to @mnp6)

It's a little less for the senior women's field. I count seven, but again please let me know if I missed someone:

  1. Vali Holl (12)
  2. Myriam Nicole (10)
  3. Gracey Hemstreet (3)
  4. Marine Cabirou (11)
  5. Nina Hoffman (3)
  6. Tahnee Seagrave (12)
  7. Eleonora Farina

Luca has to be one of the oldest first wins in World Cup downhill in a very long time right?. Race age 30+ for a first win sounds rare

Maybe same age as Benoit when he got his 1st???  Luca is 29, Benoit is 31

Dak's in Schladming in a cabin halfway up a mountain. He said the wifi is nonexistent, but the host is working to get it resolved. We planned to chat this morning, now trying for Saturday or Monday morning. Also working around the 9 hr time difference and Dak training/testing before Leogang. Ohhh the trials and tribulations of the B Practice Podcast. Sorry for the delays, peeps!

I would much rather have him be the guy doing trackside interviews before race , during race.  I think his personality lends to that type or role better than talking about what he sees on a screen.   I might watch the pre race if that was the case.

Wyn is such a huge asset to the community doing exactly what he does. A commentary booth role would be doing him and us a disservice, he's our guy at the finish line.

This is happening this weekend. Hopefully they've had some moisture up there and conditions are good. Looks like a great event and US National champs will be determined. Another Durango national champ, Milo Deem, will be defending his jersey in a junior category.

Soldier Hollow nearby Deer Valley is hosting the UCI XC World Cup the same weekend as the US Open/Pro Downhill finals at Deer Valley. They are about 20 min drive apart from each other. Now..if perhaps someday Deer Valley hosted an event on the newly expanded Mayflower area they would be 10 minutes apart.

About Deer Valley Resort

Deer Valley Resort, located in Park City, Utah, set the standard for luxury in skiing by offering the service and hospitality of a five-star hotel. The ski-only resort is now delivering the largest expansion in ski resort history for the 2025/26 season. This winter, Deer Valley unveils seven new chairlifts, including the East Village Express—a 10-passenger gondola connecting the new Deer Valley East Village to Park Peak. Since December 2024, Deer Valley has added 10 new lifts, doubling its skiable terrain and redefining the mountain experience. This transformation is part of Expanded Excellence, a resort-wide initiative that includes a new portal at Deer Valley East Village with 1,200 day-skier parking spaces, the reimagining of Snow Park base area, and enhancements to on-mountain infrastructure. The resort now features 31 chairlifts, 4,300 skiable acres, seven bowls, and benefits from 300 inches of average annual snowfall. Deer Valley limits daily lift ticket sales and is renowned for its award-winning ski school, elegant day lodges, exceptional dining, and a wide range of luxury accommodations. In 2026, the resort named GMC as the official vehicle of Deer Valley and introduced a new fleet of GMC vehicles for resort transportation and guest experiences. Deer Valley has been named the UnitedStates’ Best Ski Resort by the World Ski Awards for 13 consecutive years. View and Download the Deer Valley Press Kit

So Deer valley hosting PDH and not a World Cup. Like some one in here had mentioned, or both?

Soldier Hollow nearby Deer Valley is hosting the UCI XC World Cup the same weekend as the US Open/Pro Downhill finals at Deer Valley. They are about 20 min drive apart from each other. Now..if perhaps someday Deer Valley hosted an event on the newly expanded Mayflower area they would be 10 minutes apart.

Soldier hollow xc is the week before the US open

I dislocated the lunate bone in my left wrist 20+ years ago, It's a horrible injury that I still deal with.  Hoping Bruni's surgery is succesful and he's able to come back, wrists are gnarly because of all the working pieces in it.

Here's a crazy stat: now that Luca's won a race, there are at least 20 active senior men's racers (editor's note: 21) who've won at least one World Cup DH round. Could me more, so please let me know if I missed anyone. That's a pretty competitive field. In no particular order:

Maybe same age as Benoit when he got his 1st???  Luca is 29, Benoit is 31

Not to get technical, but didn't I see Gee and Dan on the eligible rider list?  Not that they are planning to race, but if they did, that'd be more WC winners "still" racing.
