10/29/2025 12:58pm Hot take: we need less elites in finals (for men). I'd vote for 20 Elite Men, 15 (and eventually 20) Elite Women in Finals. Maybe not right this moment, but eventually. The current package is already a long watch, and they still don't capture entire runs of every rider. I think there is lot of potential with less racers to hone in on elevating each racers notoriety; potential to adjust the schedule to minimize track degradation and allow for safer speed increases throughout a weekend; and hopefully more money paid across the entire field. These changes feel very dependent on...

10/29/2025 7:46am Pinkbike posted an article about that floating front brake setup. It mentioned it was seen at Vital first. Maybe the first time they’ve acknowledged that??

10/23/2025 12:02pm I'll add to the dumpster fire: In 2022 a friend of mine broke his super boost rear wheel just days before our bike trip to Moab. He was unable to find any replacement in a big city like Toronto. Not even the shops in Moab had one. After much research. he managed to find a bike shop several hours out of the way from Moab that had one collecting dust. If this was a "normal" 148 wheel then he could've used any one of our spare wheels. It's just silly. Also never heard of renting wheels in North America.

10/23/2025 9:25am I thought it was very brave of Ebruner to be vulnerable and share how many bikes he and his wife have. It can be tough to come clean. We’re all active or recovering bikes addicts here, and this is supposed to be a supportive community for recovery. Or enabling rationalizations and fostering codependency, if that’s what you’re looking for. Both, really. JUDGEMENT FREE SPACE

10/23/2025 7:26am 5 bikes between wife and I, and yes I agree with every word this guy says. All my rear wheels are 148 boost axles, makes it easy when.... 1. One needs to be trued/serviced 2. Rim cracks at the bikepark 3. Biking trips I just bring an extra ready to go rear wheel I will also likely never own anything...

10/23/2025 7:19am Well the bad news is that I don't know what to tell you, and the good news is that I have nothing to prove, nor nothing to gain for convincing you. I have a lot of mountain bikes and so does my wife, 6 between us. Everyone of our bikes has sram brakes with metallic pads, 200mm hs2 rotors and the same sram drivetrains and sram dt350 hubs on every wheelset save one. There are two extra floater wheelsets between all of the bikes. I think it may actually be more important for me to be on the right tires...

10/19/2025 8:44am As much as I am a Dak fan, I'll agree with you that missing half a season due to an off season, off the bike injury isn't a positive thing in the eyes of a sponsor. It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up on a US based team with a focus on the US series that seems to be moving in the right direction. As for injuries, I wonder what some of the injury clauses look like in these contacts?

10/19/2025 8:42am So much chat about Dak, he’s 33, has had 5 podiums in his career (UCI DH) not exactly lighting the world on fire. Lets face it we love him because he’s an under dog and his comeback this year was awesome BUT, his injury was his own fault messing about on pit bikes at his home, if you are a big team and your rider injures themselves like that messing about on pit bikes you’d be asking questions. Before coming at me saying all DH racers ride moto in the off season yes I know but a pit bike is...

10/17/2025 4:17pm I think Vali Höll should star on Team RockShox United by RedBull Leogang Alliance. Different frame every week, the same as whomever’s in 2nd place. Continue roasting. That’d be sick. She could do it.

10/16/2025 1:45pm I think it's less dropping Dak, more not giving him as much as either Dak hoped for or making some budget for Ronan and Pinky. I have a world of respect to Dak, especially on his comeback journey, and I think he can contend for the win - but put on Mondraker's hat and think about the 3 elite male...

10/16/2025 1:08pm Yeah... he never said anything about "I'm not being renewed" or "I'm being dropped." Purely speculative, but reading between the lines, that would indicate to me that an offer was made to Dak, but that it probably was a reduction in his previous compensation (which is understandable from Mondraker's point of view when mainly looking at race results this season in comparison to the other riders on the team) and Dak felt he could get a better deal hitting the market (which is also understandable from Dak's point of view... as his 'comeback story' provides a lot of intangible value...

10/16/2025 12:05pm Loic has made some posts on socials. Short version was that he was in the medic tent for the podium, straight to the hospital and stayed the night. Caught the first flight he could back home and made it in time for the birth of his son. Congrats papa.

10/16/2025 12:04pm I doubt so, it really sounds like he is being dropped or the offer isn't as good as he hoped for from the podcast.

10/15/2025 8:18am This is a pretty cool move by Reynolds, amidst the gloom: Reynolds Steps Up for Riders Left Behind by CSS / Forge+Bond Closure Reynolds Cycling is taking action to support riders affected by the recent shutdown of CSS Composites, the company behind Forge+Bond and a number of white-label rim brands including those used by Chris King, Revel, and others. With the closure of CSS and the discontinuation of warranty and crash replacement support for their carbon wheels, many riders have found themselves without options. Reynolds Cycling — a brand with one of the longest histories in composite manufacturing and carbon...
