You are right it’s pretty dang close. If I’m picky id take a smaller drive unit, smaller internal battery, smaller down tube. With the ability to use that big of an extender. But that bike does get me thinking, but it’s just not better than my current E with 170mm front and rear springs plus DH tires. Big battery’s kill most new bikes in my opinion. Extender just for bigger days

If I had to speculate, Big S is a large ship to turn, and they were already a few years into Levo 4 development/production when the Avinox wave started to break. They probably would have liked to react sooner, but they had a massive glut of L4 inventory that they needed to unload first. We've seen them frantically coming up with different build kits (the R model & Evo) using the same base frame/motor to try and clear out some of that stock. But if they hold fast to the flop of the L4 design too long, they will cease...

Not exactly a tech rumor, as this is actually real, but worth a post here I think - BikeYoke has just introduced their new "Cockpit Calculator" (do you have a better name for it?), basically a 3D visualization of how changing your geo and cockpit parameters affect your riding position. It's a pretty neat concept, with a few nice use cases that jump out at us. For example, if you're changing your frame and you want to get as close as possible to your old fit, this could help you figure out exactly what cockpit components you need to get...

Still yet to se a 32inch bike that doesn't look like complete garbage. Designers are shoehorning them into bikes and still using current wheelbases and dimensions so the proportions are all wrong. I could see a 27.5/29/30.5 scheme working with choice based on frame size. XS bikes get 27.5. S, M and L get 29 or 29/27.5 mullets. XL and L get 30.5 or 30.5/29 mullets. 32s go in the bin. Ideally fork manufactures would offer specific lowers for each wheel size.

I don't disagree with more line choice at tracks at all, I'm not sure hardline is the best comparison if that's your argument though.

I disagree hardline is great but it's basically the limit of what racers can race or possibly even ride, what makes world cup racing work is that the racers are comfortable enough to send it and that makes the racing tighter and better.

I've been looking for an inexpensive allen key/multitool holder for this part of the bike for a long time. Found this 3d print file which might do the job just nicely. Just finished watching Hardline, it was a bit of a weird watch for me. I loved how tech and awkward the trail was, looked awesome and fun to ride if you're good enough, but it also was almost too awkward to race. It made the racing a bit boring even if all the runs were great to watch. I also really want a Hardline where the women's race has more than two riders in it, I know they're capable of it.

I have never loved a bike more than my Madonna. I ride it everywhere and can't imagine much being better, BUT... I think my ideal three bike lineup would be a longer travel ebike (ONLY because I live in the Canadian Rockies and our climb trails are like, 10% grade), a single speed DH/park bike and a short travel down-country. And a gravel bike. And a DJ... Lol

Pretty popular here in western canada. And a blue trail here is like a double black pro line in california 😁 Long travel acoustic enduro bikes are definitely being replaced by long travel e-bikes, regardless of the rider's "hardcoreness" or the trail difficulty. It'd be a different story if there was a performance hit, but they tend to be faster descenders, in addition to being able to self shuttle back up the mountain. More laps, more performance. Hell, I ride my e-dreadnought at lift service bike parks just as often as I ride my acoustic dreadnought v2 or dh bike...
