John Tomac is widely considered one of the greatest (American) mountain bike racers of all time. During the early years of international racing he won numerous DH and XC events. He went on to be the namesake and involved with Tomac bikes. The 204 DH frame in the photo was their flagship model. The bike company then ceased to exist (in the late 2000s?). I also believe he helped coach several (a lot?) of racers over the years including Aaron Gwin for a time. Finally, if you’re into motocross, he is the father of Eli Tomac. Basically John Tomac was...

If you read your own AI slop you’ll see that Bosch has Heart Rate Monitoring AND it has an Auto mode however nothing indicates any integration between the two. Auto mode does NOT monitor your heart rate in order to deliver power and stay in a targeted HR zone.

Fox has E-Optimized and E-Tuned forks, the later sounding like what you have. E-Tuned is just a damper tune. E-Optimized incorporates structural changes to the crown and lowers, along with an E-Tuned damper. You can run regular Fox forks on an e-bike and they work great (what I do).

Gobao seem further on that Avinox when it comes to the eCVT and from Eurobike interview they were looking at an early 2027 release to the market. On another forum it was said that they do have established brand(s) on board for that window also. Given that Gobao already supply white label drive systems to Aventon and Hepha it's not...

All the M2S bikes are sold because there was very little stock to go around after it was released. Bike brands (and Avinox) won't be close to realising their desired M2S returns yet at this stage. It's gonna be August or later before the supply chain of M2S bikes really gets going.

Gobao are targeting early 2027 for their unit to be on production bikes. They do apparently already have some known brands on board for this according to a user on another forum. The Avinox one sounds more like it would be late 2027.

Gobao do also have some normal middrive offerings also. It's also possible that manufactures don't go all in on eCVTs and instead have a mix of standard drivetrain and eCVT offerings in their portfolios.

No, the 3.1 is still a Brose manufactured unit. It sounds like (rumour) Specialized did initially approach Mahle for them Levo 4 but it didn't work out and they went back to Brose.

I am almost certain Specialized are trying to get rid of as much 3.1 motors and battery stock as possible before 2027 which explains the Levo R, Evo and X releases. Ever since Yamaha (Giant's ebike partner) purchased Brose I have assumed Specialized would try and move away from Brose as soon as possible. Who they decide to work with...

Reading the article on PB this is more interesting than what is being reported... According to DYEDBro there are 3 main points, with point 1 being: " 1) The co-owner of Dyedbro is also the co-owner of VHS. His partner at VHS attempted to sell the VHS assets out from under him without notice, consent or approval in violation of the VHS shareholder agreement and the law." If true then that does put a different light on this... Could be an interesting one to look into further, but I doubt we'd ever get to see either the shareholder agreement or...

I think Avinox reached out to the brands that showed bikes today and asked them if the would develop some frames to showcase it. It sounds like there's still a bit of work to be done to have it market ready but one of the main Avninox guys expressed a desire to have it to market in 2027.

Why on earth would that specialized levo monstrosity only come in an sworks model... or even an sworks model at all? Why would the prospective buyer for this bike ever want factory level suspension, maven ultimate, XX transmission, with carbon wheels, bars etc? I envision the buyer for this being a commuter with too much money, a dentist that also does trail work or anyone with more ego/narcissism then common sense. Either way, none of the buyers I can project would want to shave 2-3lbs off of this bike and pay 4k more for it. The previous bike that was...

Uh, that's most bike buyers. The number of people that I've sold bikes to who don't care/know what the knobs do is... the majority. We do our best to educate, but I could see their eyes glaze over in the first 10 seconds. The number of customers who care about how suspension works is less than 5% in my experience.

Still yet to se a 32inch bike that doesn't look like complete garbage. Designers are shoehorning them into bikes and still using current wheelbases and dimensions so the proportions are all wrong. I could see a 27.5/29/30.5 scheme working with choice based on frame size. XS bikes get 27.5. S, M and L get 29 or 29/27.5 mullets. XL and...
