Fox has E-Optimized and E-Tuned forks, the later sounding like what you have. E-Tuned is just a damper tune. E-Optimized incorporates structural changes to the crown and lowers, along with an E-Tuned damper. You can run regular Fox forks on an e-bike and they work great (what I do).

Seems like Asa is forming a bad habit of being slow out of the gate. His S1 times in the last 2 races are what have kept him from the top of the podium.

I could give this a go, would back to back race sim laps be enough to provide accurate results? At least in a way that it is consistently one way or the other?

It wont this year. They made the mistake of designing it without a gearbox. Scrapping the whole lower half of the bike.

Oooooh Megavalanche, always love anytime it's mentioned. Unsolicited opinion here since I've done it twice, in 2019 and 2021, and I agree with some points in the podcast but disagree with others. TL;DR: if you're thinking about it and have the chance, do it. It's incredibly fun. The thing I agree with is do not let go of your bike on the snow. You will continue sliding, the bike will stop. Getting back to it will mean a long slog on a steep (black) ski slope in mushy snow. Not fun. I tried to stay on my bike in 2019...

Alu dt xm 1700. Two cross. They have been quiet since I cleaned them and used wax chain lube. On another note, I’d avoid Galfer wave rotors, at least the 1.8mm thick ones. They reverberate like crazy and amplify every noise. From the pads hitting them on off angle landings to singing like wine glasses if you have a touch of pad rub. If you flick them, they hum for at least three times longer than shimano Ice rotors that almost have a damp thud to them.

At the risk.of a massive tangent it's not just the USA and it's not just cycling. Youth sport is in a mess almost everywhere.

“Physical effort and reward.” Is different for different people. In my friend group, I was the last hold out to finally get an Ebike. I was definitely snooty about them for a while until I got to try one. You know what’s great about them? Time management. As I’ve gotten older, there’s even more responsibilities. Plus I move a little slower. This thing allows me to get a solid ride in at a third of the time, and I’m still tapped at the end of it. I just can’t dedicate a whole day to a ride anymore. Not to mention...

I've been riding XT Di2 for the past 5 months and that hasn't been my experience. Zero dropped chains and I just run an upper guide (always have). Shifts flawlessly. As far as chain slap noise it seems to be heavily dependent on the bike and what kind of chainstay protection it has, my HD6 is fine. Even the most vocal critics (Pinkbike tech editors) have noted that it varies from bike to bike. Not trying to convince anyone that they need to buy it, just relating my personal experience.

I think there's a business case to be made for lower-cost park bikes now that many peoples' primary bikes are eMTBs. Back in the day, my cohort of friends had a trail bike and a DH bike. Later, I feel like it became an enduro bike and a lighter trail bike (aka downcountry). Now, I imagine a lot of mountain bikers' pairings will either be a park bike and an eMTB, or a XC bike and an eMTB.
