FWIW nearly every single dropper post offering both 30.9 and 31.6 models use identical internals, including bushings, in both models. I don't think there's an appreciable difference between the two. There's a valid argument with 34.9 but at the same time, now that droppers are mature enough, I'm not sure most people are actually experiencing the issues with 30.9/31.6 posts that 34.9 was meant to solve. Companies are just too good at making em' these days. A 30.9 post fits everything modern with various shims.

The head of YT USA was incredibly naive to consider they could keep going somehow, and did his employees a disservice by telling them to stick with him, instead of jumping ship at the earliest possible opportunity. I hope none missed out of job opportunities because yet again, a naive CEO couldn't see the freight train coming for them while they're stuck on the tracks.

Giant will stop manufacturing bicycles and shift all R&D and manufacturing to pickleball paddles.

No, they couldn't. They have none of the design or product staff, they own none of the existing designs, carbon moulds, alloy tooling, or physical assets. They don't even own the trademarks or anything to rightfully carry on the business. They can't simply go and order more Jeffsy's from their asian manufacturing partners, without first paying off the (presumably) millions owed to them. So yeah, there was never any realistic shot for them to carry on as a standalone business. I laughed when they said YT USA will carry on, business as usual. Yeah, sure, for how long? And now...

I also saw the Ellsworth similarities and I personally would think YT USA would've been about as successful as the attempts to resurrect that brand. Why would you buy into a brand with such a troubled history when there are so many out there where you don't need to take that risk?

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. I’m trying to think of a situation where a distributor continued selling a company’s product while the parent company was in bankruptcy, I can’t recall one, let alone a situation where the distributor bypassed the parent and kept operating. To be clear Flossman comes off (is) like a sociopath, but if the parent is actually in bankruptcy, I don’t see how any real deal gets done. It’s not that he wouldn’t say a deal could happen...he always looks out for himself but unless the U.S. distributorship could satisfy the creditors, there would...

Is anyone surprised by this? From what I can tell the parent company isn't emerging out of bankruptcy protections and the creditors are liquidating assets (including goat heads). Maybe the hope is the creditors are able to liquidate enough to make them whole, and the equity holders are given back the company? This doesn't seem likely. This is why Markus needed investors, to effectively buy the company out of bankruptcy. TL;DR - The parent is done, hence every regional distributorship is also done. Am I missing something?

Sounds like trouble for Eurobike going forward: https://ebike-mtb.com/en/the-end-of-eurobike-who-will-lead-the-bike-ind… Two big German bicycle associations are pulling out although it's not entirely clear to me right now whether or not that means the show will be cancelled as a result. Can't say it's that surprising, though. The traditional trade show model has been dying an agonizingly slow death. The Taipei Show gets a little quieter every year and Taichung Bike Week was practically a ghost town this year. I know the Sea Otter Classic is difficult to replicate, but it's a format that I see value in. Brands get to show off...

simple solution for that -> just don‘t watch his content! and now please back to team rumors before this starts to be a BK-bashing thread again.

What is to say the entire broadcast start to finish needs to be live? What if they run more riders, top 40, tape all the runs, put a highlights package / feature certain runs for when the show starts and then blend to live coverage for the top 20ish riders? You still have the opportunity to show full runs from standout rides early in the day while running 1 min or less gaps for a lot of riders until the top qualifiers come down. Being in Whiteface I have to say the most interesting time to watch on track was...

If the race is shorted too much you lose the build. WB don't capture the the full rums even when they have time to. The long shots taken from orbit are pointless, you can't see anything which is going on. When the line is 3-4cm wide, what does such an angle show us? Yes it's technically filmed, and you can see a dot moving, but any of the detail which the sport *needs* is lost. It's also hard to think they take it very seriously, when for example Jackson's run in MSA: title on the line, home race, wearing the...

Trouble is, with fewer riders on track come race day the more reason to not bother attending and the flatter the atmosphere becomes. So much talk about TV coverage, but it gets less and less appealing as a live spectator as numbers are cut. I've attended Fort Bill 3 times over the years, I'd already think twice now with reduced...

Really bad. However the reality is, WBD have not interest in running a feeder or development series. The onus for this has solely been put into other even organisers and national federations WBD only want top 10 teams with 30 riders

Sure thing. That said, I appreciate @mickey raising the broader implications. We all know there’s no crystal ball when it comes to geopolitics, even the most experienced and “in the know” get it wrong. I’m less interested in what Joe or Palmer specifically think and more interested in the overarching impact, which I believe was the real tie-in to this thread. You could debate the “if” and “when” of this topic for days, citing Jeffrey Michaels, Bonnie Glaser, Oriana Skylar Mastro, and a dozen others... and still come to no meaningful conclusion. Also, calling Palmer a “mediocre electrical engineer” is...
