Yeah, consumer gas demand seems to be shockingly inelastic in North America. I conceptually have no idea how expensive gas needs to get at the pump before it meaningfully changes our behaviour. Certainly more than we've ever seen and certainly more than whatever prices of the pumps are in Norway and other expensive European countries. We've set up our societies to rely on the car and we'll be damned before we make any significant changes, behavioural or legislative or infrastructure. And besides, if we manage to hit the behaviour-modification price ($4CAD/litre? $5?), we're going to be so hurting with the...

9 months? But I thought the Supreme Leader said there was nothing left to target and he could end it any time he wanted. Maybe he's getting rich out of the higher oil prices? 🤔

When I was at school (admittedly we're talking over 40 years ago) we were taught about the Crusades. The way it was taught was very much pro Crusaders, we were the knights in shining armour going over there to teach the heathens a lesson (is it just me or does that have a ring of familiarity to it?). Anyone who...

A KGB spy and a CIA agent meet up in a bar for a friendly drink "I have to admit, I'm always so impressed by Soviet propaganda. You really know how to get people worked up," the CIA agent says. "Thank you," the KGB says. "We do our best but truly, it's nothing compared to American propaganda. Your people believe everything your state media tells them." The CIA agent drops his drink in shock and disgust. "Thank you friend, but you must be confused... There's no propaganda in America." Anyway. Does anyone have a list of what Avinox powered bikes...

Both sides of any conflict use propaganda, It's proven as a useful tool and it's always been the case (at least since the start of The Great War). Speaking of propagana (and tools)...😂

The Chinese play dirty? Have we not come to the point where we realize all money guys play dirty? It’s called “being good at business,” unfortunately. I know we were taught differently but dude. Singling out The Chinese is bonkers! Ten years ago I was asked, in writing, to go on Amazon to pump up positive reviews when I was at the bike company. I couldn’t believe it but nobody around really thought it was anything untoward. Luckily my slimeball director was also a total coward so I was allowed to just laugh at the sales group who’d brought it...

Doesn't it seem obvious that the optimal wheelsize for XC racing would be: 1. The biggest wheelsize you can fit into your frame and fork without significantly jeopardizing bike fit, and 2. The biggest wheelsize that's still available with a competitive tire (casing/compound/tread) If you can check both of those boxes, I don't see why it wouldn't be faster than running a smaller wheel. I'm sure we would see diminishing returns for 36", 39", or even 42" wheels (as you mentioned), but diminishing returns are still positive returns. As long as you can build a wheel with featherlight spokes and...

It must've stung even more considering what happened with Bulls the following season.

This was such a great listen. Thanks @WynMasters for the download. The fact that Bulls asked you to pay them your full 2016 salary at the end of 2015, to get out of your 2016 contract, is crazy to me.

Rachel Atherton had a perfect season and never got to drop in last…I think it’s going to be huge. Stoked for it. With the men down in the finish corral too, cheering their teammates on? I swear we’re all gonna cry and the tuff guys will be claiming they were always for it.

30 women in finals would be a little silly. I just checked Poland and Les Gets results and there were 31 and 33 women in Q1 respectively. So basically everyone would qualify minus one or two riders? I'm not sure that many women would help the category? Surely some sort of competitiveness is needed to push riders. Maybe 20 in finals, especially if all these fast junior girls come trough.
