Like new Vorsprung Smashpot V1. It is the later version with the updated spring isolator for silent operation. 45# and 50# spring, and all the parts to change travel and adjust spring preload. The HBO shim stack is set for "mortal" use and works great with 60ml of lower bath oil. Also includes a large piece of 3:1 shrink polyolefin...

All weather reports for US races must use Freedom Units only. Many are saying these are the BEST units of measure in the UNIVERSE as I INVENTED them MYSELF. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

What I know of Revel it sure seemed like a CBC, Colorado Bro Company. Pumped on riding, BBQing, and crushing beers. Perhaps not so focused on the business details? Combine that with the cost of replacing broken rims that carry a "lifetime" warranty. I know someone who went through 3 rear rims before giving up and moving on. Revel always...

Can the lever be setup so it comes closer to the grip at full lock compared to the DHR? That was a common issue, and reason for aftermarket blades, on the DHR. Couldn't get the lever in far enough for some folks like me. Caliper is exactly the same as DHR, same size pistons?

I'm a big fan of testing, that part was cool. But missing some key points if the goal was to really compare steel to carbon as a frame material. (Sorry if this was covered at some point in the video, but it was too slow so I skipped around). 1) If you want to compare stiffness of different frame designs...
We all know the theory: lower tire pressures mean more grip, and higher pressures roll faster. But when it comes to real-world speed, which one really wins? I set out to answer this with 30 timed runs down the same track. ◾ The Experiment Two sets of tire pressures were chosen for my 88kg (194lbs) weight: 25/28 psi (front/rear) for the higher pressures and 18/20 psi (front/rear) for the lower pressures. These pressures maintain a consistent 0.9 front-to-rear ratio, with the high pressures aligning with recommendations such as those from E13 . After three warm-up laps, each tire pressure setup...

With Ellie now on board, The Santa Cruz Syndicate would respectfully disagree. Looks to be the start of the "mega team" era.

Have you folks run a Telum yet? What do you think about the lack of a mid valve? I thought that one of the functions of a shimmed mid valve was to counter the slight delay between piston movement, and when oil pressure through the base valve generates damping. Maybe different on a twin tube design?

Changing the shim stack allows you to change the shape of the damping curve. Steep/shallow nose, linear, progressive, etc. The clamp shim makes the whole stack stiffer or softer, the basic "shape" remains the same. One of the assets Vorsprung has is a massive tuning database they've developed over the past 10+ years, so they should have the damper curve...

The Vorsprung Telum needs some mention here. The fact that you can change the tune it in 5 minutes w/o a rebuild is amazing. Externally adjustable clamp shim diameter plus a massive tuning database will forever change the suspension game, no more hand jobs for @TEAMROBOT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5RomAga7qs&t=38s&ab_channel=VorsprungS… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xx5-vHt-mVo&t=235s&ab_channel=Vorsprung…

Jewett bros to Giant with the Aussie bros? That would be a pretty rowdy team of rippers. Haven't heard much word about how Giant is doing these days. They are so big and make product for so many other companies, maybe they are one of the few that is not tanking right now?

Similar set-up with a hole drilled in the bottom for exta volume. I went with 2 o-rings so stop any chance of the piston cocking in the bore. The second o-ring doesn't do any sealing, it is just a guide. I also trialled a piston with double u-cup seals. But I tested the breakaway force needed to get it moving and it was not as good as the 2 o-ring setup.

That was the idea, increase volume for less progression near bottom out. I have a Chickadeehill in a Boxxer. It is a well thought out version of a second positive air chamber system. Modular design, very light weight, the piston is bored out and it uses a quad ring to seal. For sure German....😉

Nice! What do you have going on with the piston? I have been playing with the stock RUNT +10mm extended piston. I bored it out and was able to increase the internal volume by close to 10% with the goal being to reduce the progression. I also swapped out the o-ring for a quad ring and a few other things...

No shock requires a vacuum bleeder, they just make it easier and quicker. If you're rebuilding dampers all day long, that's way too many hand jobs!😶 Tools: Appropriate sized shaft clamps for the damper shaft A few different size Knipex pliers Some nice syringes (the vet ones work great and can be rebuilt) Any specialty fittings for oil ports and...
