I have had great luck with unparallel climbing shoes, now I have to try the bike shoes. A cobbler who will resole a climbing shoe will frequently also be willing to do a MTB shoe at a reasonable price. I would have them use climbing rubber personally.

Matt Beer from Pinkbike posted this on his story yesterday. The frame lines look like Transition. Do we think it’s the new 6 bar sentinel? The song choice also makes me wonder if it’s a Ministry cycles bike. Or if transition is licensing the 3VO platform.

I'm looking forward to get some crankbros flats resoled (took a punt on severely discounted colourway, and have found the rubber is terrible). The uppers are great, and would like to see how they are with decent rubber.
Does anyone have experience having some flat shoes resolleded with the Unparallel dotty rubber? Can't find any direct reviews or experience online.
TIA
Edit : the tech rumour rumour would be that the northern hemisphere is going into winter (when most magazines/websites tend to run an article advising running flats) and 5.10 freeriders, freerider pros and both specialized 2Fo have all been discontinued.
Unparallel shoes and RC hellions are also seem none existent.
Struggling to find anything in the uk in a size 10 (uk)

About 8 years ago, I took an old pair of shoes (can't remember what they were, maybe five tens, maybe specialized) to a rock climbing shop. They put the classic five ten dotty sole on them. They have the soles for some of the guide/approach shoes that five ten makes. It was super cheap too, under 50$.
Definitely keen to try this as my soles wear down. I wonder if there’s anyone in Canada who will do it?

Who are you looking to have do it?
I’ve been wanting to do exactly that as well after seeing someone doing a lot of cool swaps on IG. Would love to convert a handful of shoes to it if it’s that good

@Primoz that looks like a tidy job! Is that the Unparallel rubber? How is the grip compared with 5.10 or specialized 2fo?
I think it is, they offer unparalleled rubber now and I think this hasn't changed over the last three years. Grip wise I didn't notice anything so I'd say it's good. But I bet that's also something that can be pedal dependant.
FWIW, maybe these (same model, just a bit older) have a bit more use, but they for sure have a lot more wear in their stock form:

Thanks for clarifying grip levels. Been tricky to try and get some feedback online for such a niche thing!
I'll also add feedback to the thread if i go for it.
I've managed to find some brand new OG 5.10 impacts (pre-adidas no less!!) on marketplace for £30 so going to give those a go, hopefully they dry out between weekly rides.

I had those before the Terrex ones I pictured above... Threw them in the closet after buying the Terrex, pulled them out years ago to see what they are like and takin a stroll to the garbage bins I came back basically barefoot because the rubber sole disintegrated while walking.

A 15+ year old shoe is going to be lush. Hope they have been stored dark, moderately tempered and ideally in an oxigen free environment...
I’m in eicma, eh this feels a bit like a toy…
What the f*ck is the point of that rear mudguard 😂
We tested those a while back now, don't know if they have changed anything in the construction since then. TL/DR: incredible grip, shoe lacked stability and protection: https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Flat-Pedal-Shoes,60/Unparallel/Dust-Up,26275#product-reviews-8766.
How anyone this whiny about what people on the internet think of their opinions gets by a day in the real world baffles me.
When chatting with the RMU folks they let it slip that a shorter travel bike is in the making. No idea if that is it though
Then you might as well remove upvotes and downvotes all together... makes no sense.
Ready for downvotes on the most basic logical statement
Bet he has a wicked comb over though
Hey man I just wanted to do my part in helping you out. I downvoted you because you sound like a big baby. Hope this helps 🙂

This is what we need more of in mtb: bullying.
I'm stoked to see it's become bored of high school lunch rooms and has made its way to mtb forums.
We should all collectively bully SRAM for an update on the Zeb quagmire.
Bit late to the party, just wanna say the unparallel shoes were by far the best flats I've ever used. Could say unparalleled grip ha
Can I just downvote myself and be over with it?
Have you been to the pinkbike comments, pretty much on any article.
Another commuter ebike? I don't get it
The market for commuter bikes is way bigger than emtbs, why wouldn't they go after that?
Down votes are dumb. Makes me hate forums. I’m probably just a sensitive baby tho
I’ll just stop posting, that will be good for the forum or whatever 🤢
I've been on them for 5 years, just got second pair. The soles can come away but shoe glue them back and they are fine. Great grip.
I mean they already have a commuter ebike.
Maybe E-road? Not many mid drive E-road bikes right now,
New Hayes Dominion lever

Showing my age but that lever body shape/bleed cap orientation gave me instant PTSD to these death-traps:

I have the Unparallel Westridges.
Plenty of support and protection. Grip for days as per previous comments.

Time is not kind to them.

I had these at Bromont for a race the year they came out. I did not make it to finals. Can confirm.
Sounds like they worked a bit too well for you in that race if you didn't make finals 😉
