I’m not knocking on anyone at all. Lots of the top American talent is from very regular backgrounds and are products of network of contributors in and out of the industry. It’s also completely in a young man’s or woman’s right to chase a dream and live their best life traveling to races if they have the means to do so. But speaking France is smaller than Texas and has the wealth and population of the American west coast it’s not really surprising they produce more cycling pros than America does per capita.

I think usa’s primary issue remains accessibility outside of a few well devoloped communities. Cream will always rise to the top and it doesn’t distinguish on anything but results. but it doesn’t take a genius to see why France and Britain punch above their weight in terms of producing career processional riders. As well as a higher proportion of pro riders from working and lower middle class backgrounds. British Columbia probably produces the most (both in terms of pros per capita and creating pros from poorer economic backgrounds). And it purely comes down to bikes, places to ride, and therefore...

I’d give that 0%. They would have to throw a lot of cash that they don’t have to lure him to a team with no established infrastructure and would be a wildcard team.

I raise you Devinci, think it's just a coincidence that we're seeing rumors of a new Wilson?

If his contract is up I could see Norco making a push for him.

Been in Whistler all summer and I've seen like 5 people on Archibalds and a handful on G3's. When I look around, I see a lot of v10 / Supreme V5 / Demo / Session / random enduros or trail bikes. I don't think the gearbox revolution is here just yet.

Not sure how far you have to go back but I have talked about it. I’ve just put in a claim for my 4th M1 motor… to see if I can get one of the quieter ones. 😅 M2s is quiet as is Bosch G5… we’ve seen more Bosch warranties through our shop than Avinox in this last year.

Maybe the nerds can compile a long travel emtb weight list of all the avinox and bosch bikes as a competition? First with the list can claim "best motor traction" for a one year period

First, it's true, I've never even ridden an Avinox bike. My ego has no need to be 'right' about the Bosch, but I did choose what I considered the best bike with a great motor system. I would have been fine with an Avinox as well. I think the current and likely the future TQ motors are the top product honestly. The M1 rattled, ate up too much battery (inefficiency was addressed with the M2), and yah the motor system was 1# lighter than the Bosch, but once you add the needed chain ring protection to the Avinox they are...

Haa they do love to complain indeed. I've heard about a backlog of current motors being released. I wasnt aware the first gen had 30k units sold. I've only seen a few failure complaints and a few warrantee complaints. Minimal compared to shimano and brose. They do seem to update even the current m2s' with every new batch as well...

They have sold so many, 30,000 in 2025 supposedly. If they were as bad as the second and third generation Levo we would’ve heard by now. People love to complain about stuff breaking.

The M2S is a little bit better than a Bosch on virtually every aspect: weight, size, noise, efficiency, software, overall package (screen, controllers, lights), price of the bikes. But much more importantly, just look at the bikes, take any Bosch bike like the commencal, crestline, orbea, then compare their Avinox equivalent, they are just so much better looking. On top of that, a lot of brands have released sub-5k ebikes with the M2, some are even carbon. There is also the fact that they are releasing things much much faster than the other brands. This is coming from a happy...

Well said! All the buzz around Avinox basically comes from them 'unlocking' more power by software. It's basically just ecu tuning but with an electrical motor it's even easier because the mechanics aren't as complex. The other manufacturers could just more or less follow suit with simple ota software updates. But in the end this power arms race will inevitably lead to restrictions in form of trail or even fireroad access. Because unlocking more and more power from these motors and bigger batteries will just lead to more people blasting those trails and fireroads at higher speeds. So before we...

Has anyone picked up one of those new norco sight vlt px's? I see the shock is a 205x60, i'm wondering if there is room on the frame for an extra 5mm of stroke? 163 rear travel could give some nice options for the bike.

I still say Crestline's Bosch system was the best. Slide right out the bottom. Ultimate modularity being able to use the 400, 600 and 800 battery with just different brackets bolted to the battery. Battery was bolted straight through the downtube, no latches or anything to deal with. I think this new Fuel+ will be similar.

I talked to a guy who works for a Trek dealer. He confirmed the TQ120 is coming, and that they've got a novel approach to battery capacity with it. Sounds really interesting.
