7/19/2026 10:53am I talked to a guy who works for a Trek dealer. He confirmed the TQ120 is coming, and that they've got a novel approach to battery capacity with it. Sounds really interesting.

7/14/2026 10:45am I’m glad we’re back to talking about e-bikes here, instead of how purifying going back to the regular bike felt. Take your baptism elsewhere.

7/14/2026 10:31am In 2018/2019, six of us bought Levos/Kenevos. We were all existing mountain bikers since the late 90s, we hardly used turbo because of range, none of us were on the heavier side, and we knew how to change gears. All motors failed.

7/13/2026 2:19pm Oh ya right that firmware update smoothed out the power. It took swveral years to get it fixed. Finally they ditched the belt. Most of the other motors are near as quiet now. Power wasnt the problem with them. Honestly its probably enough even currently. It was quite good for energy consumption, similar to bosch. Still too risky compared to...

7/13/2026 9:17am I know it did a lot of things well and i didnt know shifting with the motor was a thing but i highly doubt that was the cause of all their problems. The failure rate/customer was higher than 100%. Many people warranteed several motors. No way theyre all motor shifters plus the clutch was blowing up as well. No other...

7/9/2026 5:55am It may well be the most droolworthy emtb frame. That rear triangle and the headtube junction (without the cutout) are so beautiful! Is it full carbon? Because there are those 2 bolted elements in the rear triangle (chainstay link and chainstay dropouts). PS. I also hope that they will opt for 170-180mm rear travel.

7/8/2026 2:05pm If they already have a way above average finished product (avinox mg), while they released the m2s a few months back, why couldn't it be that they also have semi solid state batteries already? By the way, that mondraker frame looks damn nice!!!

7/8/2026 2:05pm Best looking bike evvvar. I hope its more than 160mm travel. Mondrakker still out of my price range though

7/8/2026 1:53pm I don’t think Specialized has much margin to make their bikes more affordable compared to smaller companies that have less overhead.

7/3/2026 3:52am Thanks, its nice that brose changed from that belt system. Supposedly the gabao system is quite affordable. I wonder if spesh will actually make adfordable bikes. Thats probably their biggest barrier currently. Im not a huge avinox fanboi, i think i'd prefer bosch, but its tempting when their bikes are half the price of a spesh

7/3/2026 3:42am No, the 3.1 is still a Brose manufactured unit. It sounds like (rumour) Specialized did initially approach Mahle for them Levo 4 but it didn't work out and they went back to Brose.

7/2/2026 2:55pm Meybe im mistaken but i thought the latest spesh motor was a mahle. In any case, spesh are rumoured to be working with Gabao and will have a spesh branded Gabao probably next year so your theory of getting rid of current stock holds true. Gabao ecvt with software/feel developed by spesh eeb designers could be what it needs. This...

6/9/2026 11:12pm Ok as someone who hauls a backpack full of collapsible tools + sawzaw for trail work days I actually kinda like the concept of the Levo X. I've looked at the Dakine builder pack you can put a chainsaw in, but would much rather just mount it to the bike instead. I guess props to Specialized for bringing regular features that average people would want instead of what the industry usually does which is pander to us nerds? (The sell one bike to 10 people rather than 10 bikes to one person concept)

6/7/2026 12:44pm I know there's going to be a Bosch update to let you adjust how much run-on each mode has. That Alex Bike Tester guy was showing a beta version of it, and I thought he said that was coming in July. Not sure what all is going to be in this June announcement, sounds bigger than just a little update.

6/6/2026 8:18pm Interesting. I'd imagine it's possible to do that. In my current area i do a fair bit of commuting to the trails. That'd be pretty nice. I'd be more inclined to use it for the work commute as well

6/6/2026 8:13pm I had heard a rumor that they were going to add some sort of slider bar to the app for the end user to adjust the motor cutoff speed, or class, presumably to compete with Spz and Avinox bikes that can be switched to Class 3 by the user. The guy said his local dealer had seen the beta verson or something like that at a dealer event. On the one hand, I doubt it, as it could mean Bosch kind of diverging from their "high road" stance on regs, and they're still holding firm on 750w max (not just...

5/31/2026 4:26pm Maybe, but the can has been opened and there is no putting the bikes back in a can. Whether anyone likes it or not mtb's, emtb's znd even emotos are still going to be sold so evdntually their just place is going to be figured out based on data. Eventually we'll get there
