Still yet to se a 32inch bike that doesn't look like complete garbage. Designers are shoehorning them into bikes and still using current wheelbases and dimensions so the proportions are all wrong. I could see a 27.5/29/30.5 scheme working with choice based on frame size. XS bikes get 27.5. S, M and L get 29 or 29/27.5 mullets. XL and L get 30.5 or 30.5/29 mullets. 32s go in the bin. Ideally fork manufactures would offer specific lowers for each wheel size.

i recently learned that a 2x2 lumber is not in fact 2" in size. americans are just completely crazy when it comes to sizing stuff.

DH bikes aren't made to have wide appeal to consumers, the current demo is an obvious sign of that. Respectfully, they do not care if the consumer would be miffed at an expensive cassette or don't really care about total cost of the frame +/- 500-1000. Besides, it's not an either or... maintaining UDH compatibility still allows for cheaper, standard mount drivetrains that have a variety of cost options. I think a downtube experiences tension and compression, but I think for the majority of impacts its experiencing them as a compression event. That's part of the reason why roadbikes can have such tiny toptubes and still need such huge downtubes.
