So I've got a Bosch CX. Gen 4. And yeah, in order to do the software upgrade so you can adjust some things on your ride you signed your life away. Just like anything Apple, I suppose. So I'm trying to figure out how Marketing can claim what was written. The whole "now riders are riding more" kind of thing (paraphrasing here). So to me, one would have to have data. Obviously. The only data they would have is on their own equipment. So if on day one of using Bosch schtuff, let's say you do a 5mi ride. Yay...

If we could get every American to ride a half a mile every year, that would be an accomplishment in itself..

The high and low settings are adjusted with flip chips at the link/seat stay junction. There are also flip chips on the chain stay that allow for a long/short chain stay adjustment as well. We spec the bikes how we would want to ride them, given the price targets. They come with bigger suspension (Zeb vs lyrik on the high end), 800wh battery vs 600wh battery, in some cases 220mm rotors for more stoping power, heavy duty DH casing tires on the rear and DD on the front, heavy duty e-bike wheels that will hold up. We could build these...

We are big on the battery choice thing too. We don't know how or where everyone rides. If we offer the option, you pick what you want. You know you're riding better than we do. Why Aluminum: Call it part timing and part strategic. A big facto was our alloy e-bike was due for an update because of the dated Shimano motor it was using. We also saw a hole in the market as there were rumors of all the Avinox bikes going carbon and very high priced (keep in mind all of this was in play long before the...

I can add a bit more being on the design team for this bike. We can do a better job at calling out the "why" in the short press release. There will be upcoming videos talking about it, but here it is from the design side of things. As bike designers we are constrained by the shape of the motor and battery. We can't change these designs. Riders are wanting bigger batteries (800wh in this bikes case). We also have great demand to fit more shocks, from inline, to the largest enduro and coil shocks. We have to have fork...

What is the relevance of having a ”vertical shock”? Why does it matter? At some point I have heard a newbie say that he is looking for a bike and he had found a Santa Cruz, but he didn't like it because it has no ”vertical shock”. I laughed and explained to him that it doesn't matter so much in the grand scheme of things for a shock to be ”vertical”. Now I see this on my favorite MTB site. Is it a Pinkbike-ish ”wAtEr bOtTLe sPaCe iS sOmEtHiNG i LiVe aNd diE fOr”? Thanks, Mx

Frame only pricing is a psyop to make building your own bike less appealing/practical so you suck it up and buy the full build

Trek 980 Modular Battery System, 330wh 1p battery + 650wh 2p battery What does this mean? Both can be fitted inside the downtube? Also, where is the ecvt from avinox and the semi solid state batteries? We all know that all these are totally ready productionwise but they have to keep making money so they serve us the already finalized tech in future time segments. It really gets boring though, when the tech is already shown. At least keep it behind the curtains.

Dude, dude, dude... hear me out: I agree that you'd ideally want to have cage spring forces that are lower in the big cogs for easier shifts while climbing and higher cage spring forces in the smaller cogs for greater chain retention and chain calming during descents, and yes the current arrangement on the new dual-spring Shimano RD's is kind of the opposite of that. You know what could be done by Shimano to reverse the derailleur cage spring force problem? You know what they could do? You know what? RAPID RISE IS BACK BABY!!!!! LOW NORMAL THIS IS YOUR...

It all depends on the bike, tbh. I've ridden all the new Di2 stuff on a ton of different bikes, and I've found that chain sizing really matters. I've tested T-Type and the new Di2 back-to-back on the same bikes, and while SRAM does do a slightly better job of keeping the spazzing to a minimum, it's certainly not perfect. The dual-spring on Shimano takes about 5-6 lbs of force to break free when in the smallest cog on the cassette, and the SRAM T-Type clutch takes about 7.5-8 lbs to break free no matter what cog. The major difference...

The new hanger/ Dura Ace group was discussed on the Geek Warning podcast recently and they said the new hanger was to allow the smallest cog to sit further outboard (pushing into the space SRAMs "sandwich" design clamps the dropout) because the 13-speed cassette uses the same hub driver and chain as 12-speed (so cog spacing is also the same as 12sp).

To really level the playing field any top level racing should be limited to 20" wheels.
