I have a 600wh in frame battery with a 250w range extender on my bike, which makes 750w of max power. I have zero issues soft pedaling my way into 4,500' elevation gain rides in boost mode. I also do plenty of epic 7,500' elevation gain rides in mid power modes on this bike. Lamenting 600wh internal frame batteries is quite frankly lame and imo based on a desire for more power then is necessary or laziness. 200wh doesn't make or break any rides I want to do and 3lbs of weight on the bike not up high is a...

I would rather not need an app for my ebike. I prefer to do most settings on the bike if possible, one less thing to help keep me off my phone please.

I was told by a shop guy that they both go inside the frame, one on top of the other. I would hope that the main one goes down low, and the add-on goes up high. It'd also be cool if you could run either one down low depending on distance needs... 330 for after work ride, 650 for weekend, or 650+330 for big epics.

@sspomer and @Jason_Schroeder I just listened to the recent Inside Line pod where y'all were perplexed by the Avinox haters. I wanted to provide some honest insight into this: for many of us, it's because they're higher power than Class 1 and we worry that they're going to jeopardize e-bike trail access. I'd like to see DJI and Specialized eat dirt since they don't care one iota about trail access dynamics. What was the weight difference between your Levo and Fuel+? I noticed a surpisingly big difference difference in pedalling my Levo gen 3 with the battery in vs. out which is about a 3.5-4kg difference.

Looking at the nicolai, I can't help but imagine trying to explain to the park ranger than I am actually riding a Class 1 pedal assist ebike, and not a surron type e-moto. I want an eDH bike as much as anyone but I'm not sure this is a good direction for ebikes to be going. Let's make more ebikes that look like bikes, not motorcycles.

Im not sure that power is useful. You can get to max speed on a steep slope too quick already. Its not super manageable keeping the front end down on the steep trails that power like that is useful for. I'd imagine avinox riders are turning down the wattage for most mtb trail usage. Special scenarios sure, but then you just burn thru your battery or you have a tank with massive batteries
