5/14/2026 11:45pm How tall are you? Is the reach and chainstay length measured with the modifications or the stock frame measurements? I tried a bike with a similar reach and 465 mm chainstays at 1,80 m/5 10 and it felt weird. Maybe also because it was a heavy full power E-Bike. The old Bosch ebikes often had very long chainstays.

5/14/2026 1:41am 180 mm suspension feels like overkill on most trails on an E-Bike because with the added weight it will just feel dead on mellower trails. But I think it's relative to rider weight/strength and skill plus obviously terrain. If I was looking for a bike I wouldn't let it not being an avinox motor be the deciding factor. Buy a bike from whatever shop you like, these are going to break, have errors and software bugs Buy something with the Geo/Travel you want for the riding style you like, this will mean more than the motor Really think about what you want do you want power for short rides or range for longer adventure rides. I bought one of these in 2018 for $6000 AUD ($4275) the spec was ridiculous, fox factory front and back, shimano di2, saint brakes etc with double down tyres it still only weighed 22kg. Sure it was ugly as sin, but chucking a 29 inch front wheel on that bike it was amazing. so 8 years later, we are catching up at triple the cost. ~22kg. The only difference is peak power and 300wH more battery? yes, it was ugly as sin. But the ability to swap a battery in 10 seconds was nice.

I've never felt the difference of a battery swap back-to-back but lots of people have stated this, even swapping the battery in the same bike, so I'm going to presume that it's quite true. This is another Con against the high-power motors, as they require so much weight up high to power these darn motors.

Totally agree. Over 50lbs is too much. I don’t care how fast you can easily cruise up a fire road. I just wish there were more mid power options that have more DH geo and suspension. . Just my taste tho I’m almost forced to buy a DJI bike and use a small battery on eco mode. Rather not use a DJI motor.

It seems it’s mostly just battery size affecting weigh. If the manufacturers just had more options on what battery you could use for what kind of riding you were doing. I’d love a 300wh battery that can be swapped for a 700wt battery on big days. I’d rather use the 43lb bike for my everyday rides. Only use a big battery if I have to . That new Atherton with battery options and the round down tube with long travel, that’s my dream bike.

The one on the left has a removeable battery and the one of the right a fixed battery. Both are 150mm rear wheel travel and most likely share identicle geo AFAIK.

3/19/2026 1:39am No support from dealers in the mandatory 2 year warranty in the EU wouldn't be legal. The interesting part starts after the two years are over or if you buy a used bike and the motor stops working.
