11/19/2025 3:22am Before my levo I rode a mullet converted external battery ebike which reach was way too short for me (somwhere between 430 and 440mm) but it was slack and light. I think even a bit lighter than my levo gen3 S4 with the 500 wh battery and it was more fun to ride in certain situations. Like it felt snappier...

11/13/2025 3:18am If I'd choose this damper for an ebike do I just add the additional weight to my body weight? Does mrp specify this? Like it's kinda hard to tell with the variables. Also being kitted out adds a lot of weight...

11/9/2025 4:06pm Wouldn't those dh mods bring the bike close to 30 kg? I'd take a lighter platform for that.

11/8/2025 12:03am The bosch cx 4 where you can't change the assist modes feels very unnatural. Yes it's powerful but the eco is very weak and everything else pulls you forward. So as a light rider you're kinda inclined to ride faster than you want. Didn't feel like cycling to me. Browse is much better.

11/8/2025 12:01am I finally got my own Relay working exactly how I'd like and legitimately might just keep it as a spare rather than give it away. Last night I swapped the LED hub and the controller to the new version as my original controller was shot. The new one is much nicer. The Antidote I ordered some time back, is pretty late, and at the moment I'm not feeling super stoked on trying to dial in a new platform.

11/7/2025 1:25am Yeah, I almost bought one but wasn't sure if the power was enough and the qc issues held me off aswell. I wish I had demoted one.

10/29/2025 2:40am (sorry if this has already been posted before) KrankE MTB is making these motor replacement adaptors. I couldn't find a website or too much detail. Sounds like they're just for Kenevo/Levo SL right now. The concept is interesting though. Makes having just one bike even more of a reality.

10/24/2025 8:30am I think the Swiss guy who's yt channel I posted used the x2 damper in the same chassis as the x2 and said small bump compliance/comfort is worse on the x2. He didn't said it was bad but it sounded like he preferred the grip2. Ideally I want to spend my money in Europe because of politics. So I think I will lost likely either get MST to tune my grip 2 or try intend if I get some sweet euros from Santa. ^^ I think there are also dampers from fast and formula I coild put in but I'm...

10/23/2025 6:09am I planned dropping in an x2 but then read from many people that they got bad arm pump from their x2. My grip2 shouldn't have the ebike tuna as I bought the cartridge off ebay but the airspring/chassis combo surely differs from normal 36 or 38. So hard to compare. I kinda like it but I would like a setup that would work on more varied terrain. The way I set it up I can basically ride anything with it. But it can happen that I ride the compression fully open when it's cold, choppy and flat and fully closed...

10/23/2025 2:45am I can't really speak to the X2 vs. Grip 2 in comparison with the Lift, because I haven't run them back to back in the same fork. I will say I'm in love with the Grip X2 damper in my Podium, but currently locked in a hateful death match with another Grip X2 damper in a 160mm Fox 36 that I cannot get to work the way I want, either divey or harsh, and can't seem to find the middle ground. My Grip X2 experiences have been wildly varied so far, making it hard to compare.

10/23/2025 2:45am The problem is also that individual forks can give different ride experiences and there are multiple variables that can influence it. I'm not even riding an 38 but a 36 ebike with a 34 air spring and 3 token which is the standard config. I ride the lowest pressure I can get away with and use a lot of compression damping. But that way I can set up the fork exactly how I need it for the trails I'm running. Still fiddling with the setup. I'd love to try out usd but intend doesn't seem to have the best dampers...

10/23/2025 2:42am Yeah the reports I've heard about the X2 being harsh have all been about the damper being in a right side up fork while everone said the podium feels good with it. Maybe the podium version of the damper even has a different stock shim config.

10/22/2025 3:57am Did you test it against the latest Grip2? From my experience it has one of the smallest external adjuster range and can be set up very comfortably when the range fits the rider. I hesitate to upgrade it because the X2 damper reportedly is too harsh in the stock shim setting. This guy tested a lot of current dampers which is very informative but its in german: https://www.youtube.com/@PatrickBikeKurs

10/22/2025 3:55am FWIW, when I talked with Steve at Vorsprung about testing a Smashpot (I have one on test right now), he was excited to hear that I'd be pairing it with a Lift. The best and worst part about a coil spring is how active and frictionless it is compared to an air spring, and Steve said the stock Charger 3.1 damper provides less support than he'd like to see for a Smashpot coil conversion. In contrast, air springs inherently have more friction in them, which is just another form of damping. I'm excited to have more detailed thoughts to share...

10/20/2025 5:21am I think there was a massive change in rampage when they started giving the dig crews more access to water. They can build such fat lips and packed in landings with water that it ups the amplitude of what’s possible.

10/20/2025 5:00am Wouldn't be the biggest downsides of these conversions be bottom bracket height and front weight and steering on tight trails? Before the 38 forks came out haibike and a few other brands offered dual crown ebikes but they died off when the 38 single crowns came on the market. The problem is that ebikes are already front heavy because of...

10/16/2025 3:19pm After the nuclear winter there will be a cockroach riding a bike with 8120 brakes on it. They are perhaps characterised by the fact that they’re not outstanding anywhere, but they’re good enough almost everywhere and will stay that way after the fluid has turned to tooth paste. There are plenty of better stock brakes, but few as robust. Sure there have been occasional runs with bad pistons but the reason people remember that is it’s been so rare an exception to the reliability.

10/16/2025 3:07pm I’ve got two questions for all you Shimano XT users: - What persistent issues have you experienced in the past? - What aspects of the brakes have you enjoyed? I’ve been comparing the new XT 4-piston brakes (M8200) against the previous XT 4-piston brakes (M8100). There is a lot of similarities between the two, which begs the question, “should you buy the new brakes if you're happily riding the previous gen?” That’s what I’m hoping to figure out as part of this review. I'm open to any suggestions or things people want answered!
