My m8000 brake lever on the xt 4 pots (same design as zre/saint) has developed a weird issue since installing the brake on a bike with a complete refill and changing a bent lever. I bled them multiple times and the bleed seems to be fine but the bite point is somehow too close to the bar. If I push...

Hey @HexonJuan I finally found out the issue with my Dominion A4s and it was a leaky caliper. During fatbiking your bike is constantly getting washed so I guess the smallest amount of leak would get washed away going unnoticed. Hayes warrantied the front caliper and I has to rebuild the rear as it also started leaking after spending a few months in storage. So both calipers started leaking in under a year. Could it be that the sub zero temps are bad for these caliper seals? I never had issues with SRAM brakes in the winter before so this...

Eddy current is probably the worst tyre i've tried, did not like it one bit. might be, where i wash out with an Assegai maxx grip i don't with a Trail Pro ultrasoft Mary, that's all i need to know. Calling a Mary Dated and weak it's just stupid i stand by my statement. the latest Test by Enduro MTB Proves with actual data that Schwalbe chasings are anything but weak, therefore statement based on nothing.

There must be some hidden weight being added by the rest of the system like the battery or frame construction because the real world weights of the bikes are really high. We're basically witnessing the SUV-isation of the bicycle at this point which means for the original purpose relatively useless electronic featuress get implemented and drive the weight. Of course...

Something about their weight calculation doesn't add up. They write it's 200 g lighter than the pinion system and you don't need a trigger but other than that I only see that the motor system is 200g plus lighter than pinion bikes and those are 25kg plus aswell...
I don't know the legal frameworks for france and italy around this but I know that they seem to have more relaxed rules around using motos in some regions in the woods. But there is a big difference if you're using a trail uphill with a 250 to 750W pedelec or a throttle bike with 2000Watts. Should be a no...
Fuck this forum ate my reply once I quoted a different post. :/ I doubt that this is more fun than a pedelec ride because motos need more space and dumbed down trails because they are not as maneuverable as light pedelecs. This backcountry riding is only possible in countries that have space for stuff like that. Central europe doesn't...

"leopard ate my face" vibes. * and it doesn't stop here. we now have proper motorcycle brands already in the ""mtb"" business, its just a matter of time before they step up to surron and build competition. it was more than obvious that the "ebike" thing was just a way to get a ton of companies to get in an unregulated niche. It killed enduro racing and a ton of bike brands and now probably trail access. You wanted you got it; engines and batteries. "ITS THE FUTURE" Enjoy. * Downvotes count as a yes.

I mean in theory faster bikes that get people use them instead of cars would be more climate/environmentally friendly and would improve the living quality of all of us. The problem is that trail access in many regions is already difficult so we need some regulation. Plus riding a bike that weighs 30+ kg or sub 25 kg feels much...

Other than riding on private property, what use case is there for a Surron or light electric motorcycle? They seem like lame small motos to me, that are only actually useful for poaching MTB trails and illegally riding on the road as mopeds, because they are quiet. No, they are not. They can be the solution to get people out of cars and commuting in an environmental friendly way. I own a plated Sur Ron with all terrain tires that I use as a commuter on small side roads and dirt roads (open to motor traffic) when I cannot use...

Three wheelers were made illegal to sell, not to own, and then the market eventually took care of it. Other than riding on private property, what use case is there for a Surron or light electric motorcycle? They seem like lame small motos to me, that are only actually useful for poaching MTB trails and illegally riding on the road as mopeds, because they are quiet. They're just a law breaking machine that you can't truly legally ride anywhere. From my uninformed, but annoyed analog pedal-bike riding only perspective, those manufacturers and retailers don't invest in building trails, advocacy for...

Sorry, I am not riding motos, never have, and don't plan to do so anytime soon. You are lumping everyone into one category, from bikes to eMX bikes, as long as it has wheels. It is a myopic POV that only benefits you, a moto rider, because of the existing access that MTBs already have.

I think this discussion ignores the aspects of different mentalities, legal frameworks and population density from country to country. If you've ridden motos all your life in some woods in north america nobody would give a shit because its not densly populated and people are used to it. Now do that in central europe in some tourist region and you'll...
i think it is pretty easy to differntiate between a pedal powered bike and a full motor driven bike. I don't think they will police at all but respectfully do not agree that it will be too difficult for ht he man to differentiate.

Noise levels matter in densly populated areas, for tourism and/or nature reserves. So a vehicle with noise levels only hearable from a few yards away will be treated differently than another that is audible from miles away. Noise is the number one reason motorcycles get regulated. https://www.green-zones.eu/en/blog-news/too-much-noise-tyrol-reaffirms-… https://www.visordown.com/news/new-2025-eu-regs-mean-quieter-motorcycles And that's a good thing. The alps infrastructure is too dense for...

One issue I see is that the term ebike is used to describe multiple types of vehicles.. Let's take a person that knows nothing of classes, pedal assist or anything like that.. They buy a Surron or some other lightweight electric motorcycle.. The whole time, they've been told it's an ebike.. They hear about trails that are open to ebikes, so they head over.. As for the prospect of enforcement on trails, it has happened before.. I know of a SoCal based XC team that would regularly break the posted speed limit in the park they rode at.. After enough...

But that's exactly what we don't want and what was originally the intention to limit pedelecs to a speed limit to keep the status of a bicycle that is unregulated in that regard. Its insanely stupid to risk that status because some people want to ride electric motorcycles everywhere or going 10 mph faster on a paved road: 'The risks...
