8/29/2025 2:32am I can't really say much about that as I only rode it on similar terrain type trails for a few days so far. No hard rock impacts to judge this. And I don't think I'm cornering hard enough to notice tire roll in the back. It's just in the front that I sometimes think he mary folds on high load...

8/28/2025 8:09am So I came to riding the Albert 2.5 Trail Radial soft in the back on steep alpine trails a bit vs the Supertrail 2.6 Mary Soft that was a bit worn before. I used slightly higher pressure (1,3 bar vs 1,34 bar) to account for lower volume. Its hard to do a comparison in this setting riding a new tire...

8/17/2025 1:21am Is pole running again or are they just looking for investors/interest to get it up running again?

8/11/2025 2:32am You've seen the Albert in the front on pro race bikes in dh/edr? I've only seen magic mary radial in the front on pro race bikes. But with first ride tires it's hard to say which casing they use... But the Albert seems to get very conflicting reviews. I still didn't get to test it against the magic Mary radial...

8/11/2025 2:29am I’ve seen a few, considering there’s not many on Schwalbe regardless, with the Albert as a rear of front and rear both on Dh or EDR 🧐 Also, knobs are not lower than an Assegai, go measure them, I did. And I think it goes hard as a rear tyre and rolls incredibly well for how beefy it is. Was recently on very loose and dry condition around the sea to sky area and it might be the radials doing wonders but even crawling down steep double blacks I’ve had 0 wishes on stronger braking from the tyre

8/5/2025 5:28am I can see where an integrated battery is a proven method for weight savings going forward. But part of me worries if it is in direct conflict with the desire for user maintenance and any form of universal mounting or backwards compatibility. Are we ever gonna push brands on that? Or are mountain bikers so accustomed to non-standard standards that e-bikes are gonna crank that experience to 11? Bike looks great. But I feel like we're gonna have to add an annoying 'how does it compare to Amflow' section to all eeb reviews in terms of motor control (traction control)...

8/5/2025 5:28am Interesting as I run my levers/bite point relatively far away from the bar. I wonder how my dominions a4 will hold up against my shigura and complete shimanos. Didn't come to riding the Dominions apart from braking them in a bit.

8/5/2025 5:26am Wacky idea: As we all know, shimano brakes get more snappy and powerful the further you adjust the lever away from the bars. I guess the lever adjust changes the leverage ratio as well. It would be sweet if you could have the feeling you get with the levers far from the bars but actually have the lever nice and close to the bars. Maybe via a different pivot in the lever or by doing a really silly mod and filing down the bracing post and somehow changing the clamp angle to allow the lever to be angled in.

7/29/2025 8:10am Yeah I would love to service my calipers but the space and tools and time are just not there. I can't really afford to screw up, either. I cracked a piston just trying to push it back into the caliper and that was a whole ordeal. Also, off-hand mention of air compressors as though every rider has one... another thing I am sad to not own but would have nowhere to store. I don't have a bench mount vise or even a bench. Myself and others would love to work on all of the parts on our bikes but its...

7/29/2025 8:07am In my experience with other brands of brakes (Magura & Hayes), lubing pistons did nothing to resolve sticky pistons long term, and if anything seemed to necessitate doing it more often. The only thing that really resolved sticky pistons on the Hayes was replacing the piston seals. For Maguras, since they don't sell seals & pistons to service them, I had to replace the whole bloody caliper under warranty. My philosophy is: there's no point in lubing them from the outside because the caliper is such a dusty environment, all you'll do is attract more dust to the pistons. Instead...

7/27/2025 2:27am To be fair its not like the other manufacturers have vastly superiour policies or reliability. Plus people like to shit on shimano but they actually have kept the same motor mount for almost 10 years now. This means if your motor craps out or you're dissatisfied with the power on your old e8000 you can get a new or lightly...

7/25/2025 9:39am There must be a new motor in the pipeline by now. Most likely more power, smaller, lighter and without rattle. Maybe also a whole new system with batteries etc.

7/23/2025 4:57am For me, Tahnee is one of the more interesting characters on the curcuit, on one side she is the morst girly with all the screaming pink kits and and then she is probably the most vocal about being a rider, and female one that is, with public topics about having problems focusing on the grind required to be WC athlete, how does having period affects her training and mood, which are topics nobody really talks about. Last weekend my gf had bad period cramps and she had to take 2 pills and spent whole day pretty much sleeping, now imagine...
