I’m confused. Don’t we all possess the ability to fully review a bike and/or components from the classic showroom brake lever pull?!

How do you know how much power they have if you just felt them in the pits?

I’ve seen it too many times in this thread recently. I’m sorry but grammar matters sometimes. You pedal a bike. Therefore it’s pedaling a bike or pedaling efficiency. Peddle means to travel from place to place selling small goods, or to persistently try to convince people to accept an idea, story, or piece of information. Peddling is the act of trying to sell those goods or ideas. The only thing you’re peddling with an eCVT is the idea that it’s somehow better (or worse) than the other options.

Do they give details about where the extra drag comes from, or is it just some vague hand-waving without evidence? I would have thought eCVTs would be less draggy than a Pinion MGU, but I guess we'll have to see how the execution plays out. Unclear about mass, but it seems like a lot of folks here were keen on getting rid of rear axle mass in favor of BB mass, and this would do that. Unclear how they would manage direct peddling, say, if the battery was dead. That might be a problem. I'm not in the market for...

I never understood athletes or people saying "No photos" to a frame that sheared in half while riding. Things break in this sport. It happens. But you trying to silence the part where their frame catastrophically failed is not cool if you're representing the company in any form.

Genie Zeb sounds like unnecessary “tech” that mostly exists for marketing and branding… but that seems to be the Specialized brand identity right now.

New Specialized Enduro will drop early summer of 2027. It will come specced with a genie zeb fork. It will have a Genie vivid air, that is mounted vertically directly in front of the seat tube. The rear layout will look similar to a 2012 era Demo 8, but with a link that comes around the seat tube to the top of the shock.

The original post said "possibly career ending crashes", they didn't say that two careers were ended by crashes this weekend. They're talking about Henry Kiefer's crash and Bode Burke's crash, and it's not too hard to imagine how crashing off those two drops could end in a double femur or spinal cord situation that you never fully recover from. I was talking to Bode after his Q1 crash and he thought both of his legs were going to break on impact. Definitely hard to ignore two SRAM XX DH drivetrain failures leading to very similar and terrifying crashes!

After. It was one of the more comical experiences I’ve had with bike links. I don’t weigh a lot and I kept having to add more and more air to get sag (near max pressure and I’m only 150 lbs). So it was obvious something wasn’t right. Went to check the machining and the simulated machined part didn’t match the modeled part despite all the tool paths being up to date. Strangely the thing cleared full travel. Bounced on it a little for the fun of it… 170 mm of travel with a 45 mm shock stroke is probably one...

I don’t even know if that will happen! But if I had to make a rumor, it would be that Cascade is going to make a 170 mm Tallboy link. *this may have happened at one point due to a CAD software glitch
