Allen_Gleckner Liked a reply to forum topic What is the consensus on mullet for tall riders (DH)

As a 6’2” rider on a Spire I have to say this discussion is stressing me out. Telling myself I don’t have issues leaning the bike and getting it to turn in, but I haven’t ridden a mullet ever.

Sick. Feels normal and unremarkable in most places, similar to the stock damper, but it really comes alive in the worst, chunkiest terrain. Review coming soon-ish.

wonder if it'd be worth renting a car from jan to march and just living at TOTW parking lot to snag shots of stuff being tested?

The Vorsprung shock is somewhat similar to a CC Double Barrel in that they are both twin tube designs like Ohlins pioneered. The Telum has the most interesting design out of the bunch with a solid main piston and very unique means of adjusting the compression and rebound damping curves. It wins "showroom feel" as well, I have never felt a shock so supple and smooth. Perhaps a twin tube shootout with Cane Creek, Ohlins, Fox DHX2, and Telum? We're just getting started, big plans for the future. 👍

Round one of the Coil Shock Shootout: five rear shocks tested on a short section of mostly downhill trail. The shocks have all been tuned for the same bike, and are using the same spring. All shocks have been setup prior to being tested. A Freelap system will record the time for each run, and a subjective measure of perceived speed or "feel" will be noted before looking at the actual time. The Test Rig 2023 Specialized Enduro running an Intend Edge fork, and O-Chain device. I feel the kinematics of the Enduro make it a good test rig with...

Kavenz also uses modular dropouts that retain compatability with UDH. As you alluded to, solutions are out there. Just a matter if those solutions play nice with the brands' industrial design.

All the sponsorship posts from AON/Reece & Sleeper.co have been so dialed. Sure, they're trying to hype up their sponsors and 'sell' people on why they are choosing to run X product. But the short insta vids have been insightful without feeling forced. Shit, for a second I thought I might need some Rev Grips 😂 (disclaimer: I haven't ridden them, and probably should to form a worthwhile opinion. I'm sure they provide some advantages).

Ironically, for the cost of 1 electronic dropper, you could buy 3 normal droppers and wouldn't need to swap anything. Bikers will buy the most stupid sh*t and electronic droppers is at the top of that list.

Is it me or did Yeti marketing really miss the mark? Getting Cami is a big deal plus having a full factory DH team again and them having put nothing out!

Yeah I am not sure what Trek is doing. They are still offering like 5 different full bikes, and 5-6 framesets from last gen Slash as well. And the new gen slash has been out for more than a year. They also "re-released" the Slash 5 with a new colorway fairly recently. Do they just have that many unpainted frames left in stock? Still they want full price for them.
