4/7/2025 5:31am I'm aware, and have an understanding that 90% or more of riders have no business touching high speed compression or rebound knobs. There are many suspension company's making fantastic stuff for cheap. Suntour, Rockshox, Marzocchi and X-fusion all knock it out of the park with close to $500 suspension products for every day riders from XC to freeride. I love my Z1 and rarely do I find it unable to keep up to my 38 Factory while it does double duty on a hardtail on the same trails. And the Domain has been a reliable smasher of a park and...

4/5/2025 7:48am probably enforcing the existing tax code would be enough... but yeah, carried interest is complete BS, and loads of other shenanigans that should be obliterated.

4/2/2025 7:21pm I bet this new Norco rides really well. But that aside, thanks what I hate about ebikes- suspension no longer matters, geometry, compliance, none of it matters anymore. The only thing that really matters is the powertrain and the brakes. People fret over things like the quality of the display, whether you can add overdrive to your older motor via a firmware update, etc rather than how the bike rides. Crappy climbing geometry doesn't matter since you can pedal seated with the dropper down. Descending geometry is less critical because the much lower CoG a motor+battery gives you makes up...

4/2/2025 7:11pm Just because a bike looks like another one doesn’t mean it will perform equivalently. Think about all the different crab bikes and how differently they perform based on tiny kinematic differences. Brian Cahal recently revied the previous gen of the Norco in an ebike shootout and placed it dead last. Meanwhile, as you say, the Slash+ reviews well.

4/2/2025 7:11pm So reviewers seem to love the Trek Slash ebike, but this norco is a 4 bar high pivot with a full sized motor and oversized battery- why would anyone ever choose the Trek over this?

4/2/2025 8:11am I saw this and thought it would fit into this thread nicely. On sale for almost two years. Hmmm. How much is a NOS bike? I know there's sales tax on the new bike, but still...

4/2/2025 8:09am Yep, I got sick of cracking alloy bikes so Been on Carbon only unless the bike i want to test only comes in alloy. Think I've cracked pretty much every alloy bike i've owned except for the new Marin alpine & a merida

4/2/2025 8:09am What do you mean baby a long travel rig? Have you seen what material gravity race bikes have been made from for the last........10 years? I've seen more catastrophically broken alloy bikes in that time, and Pivot/Santa Cruz customers just plain don't want Aluminium anyway

4/2/2025 8:08am And yet entirely in keeping with the overall industry ethos. My biggest initial reservation on ebikes was around their potential implications for access. Rules vary a lot and in their quest for sales I can't recall any company providing any sort of guidance on potential "ethics". I recall one manufacturer taking a fleet of Ebikes on a dealer demo past a "no motors" sign in Whistler..... The implication that users will self police themselves is naive at best and disingenuous at worst...

4/2/2025 8:08am I heard a rumor that this new ebike from Specialized can toggle between class 1 and class 3. If true, this blatant disregard for land and recreation managers from one of the United States' biggest sellers is pretty sh*tty.

3/31/2025 1:12pm The only hint I've seen is on the mud guard page, it shows the current version is for 2025 and earlier. https://ridefox.com/products/fox-fork-mud-guard?variant=47160513200352

3/6/2025 9:17pm It sounds like we have the same trail preferences. I live in Idaho and love fast, rough, and loose trails. Silver bike park, Big Sky, Angle Fire, and Whistler are my favorite places to ride. I'm 6'1", 180lbs with a 34.5" inseam. My legs are long enough I don't have any issue with clearance, but I do use all of the clearance on both mullet or 29er occasionally buzzing the tire on either wheel size. I've been riding strictly 29ers for the past 6yrs and just set up my first mullet DH bike, a Zerode G3 last season. My previous...

3/6/2025 9:12pm As a 6’2” rider on a Spire I have to say this discussion is stressing me out. Telling myself I don’t have issues leaning the bike and getting it to turn in, but I haven’t ridden a mullet ever.
