Motorsport brakes don't use them and we are not even close to the mileage of passenger vehicles (or temperatures seen in motorsport I would think either) However most people never clean the pistons till they start leaking, there is certainly room for improvement on user side of equation.

Everyone knows the only way to get your bars and levers juuuust right is to adjust them with a rusty multi-tool in the trailhead parking lot while your buddies are waiting on you to start the ride. The more exasperated your friends are, the more precise the alignment.

Here’s a quick update: The design is 95% complete — just a few small parts left to fine-tune. The finite element simulation is done and looks promising. Some shapes had to be optimized to reduce stress concentrations, and we’ve achieved a solid safety factor (to be confirmed with real-world and bench testing, of course). The rear triangle has been tuned to deliver the compliance we’re aiming for. That compliance will be adjustable thanks to an interchangeable bridge on the chainstays. We’re super excited and can’t wait to see the prototype come to life!

I've bought a couple of ex WCDH bikes before, both had shims between the hub and the fork dropout. I wonder if that was for fork alignment. They were super thin, like .25mm feeler gauge stuff.

It's just because the lowers are cast. Which is one of the worst way to make a high precision part. Cast part + tolerance fit = big variance. I doubt anyone has enough experience, but a fork like the carbon Dorado would have a lot better alignment due to being a carbon mould, which is just a lot more accurate in production than casting magnesium

We've been using the knock off's from ali/temu etc and they've been fantastic bought a big bag for like 50USD.

This is simple physics and 100% an incorrect way to install a rotor, assuming they intend to use it to stop the bicycle while it's moving forward and brake on the left side. Imagine the force vectors a brake applies and the constraints of material. It's quite achievable to bend or fold a rotor. It's much more difficult to expand its outer diameter. And that's exactly the directions forces are applied when the rotor is installed incorrectly vs. correctly. Not sure how that happened at the top level of the sport, but then I have worked at a "top" bike...

Don't be silly. The bosch motors are far from obsolete, there's a lot of integration and quality of life features that the DJI doesn't have.

I think the European Union are going to 'outlaw' anything above 750 watts (not sure about Nm) in the near future, which to me is fine. We are also stuck with a 25kph (15.5 mph) cut off with assistance. I think, for where I live (UK) that upper limit of 750 watts, and 20 mph cut off would be the sweet spot. Thats for emtb and e-roadie/commuters. I think if that was applied across the globe, manufacturers could then divert their efforts to bringing down weights of batteries and motors and improving the range/endurance of the machines.

It's possible to use them wrong. If you follow the procedure that makes the most of them they're great, quite an improvement over the standard process. I don't believe that test in the slightest, I went back to back and there is absolutely a huge difference in feel and grunt for the same input force. I didn't touch the pads/rotors anything else. There was a fresh bleed, check, swap lever, test again and it was night and day. I see you've questioned some of the results yourself?

I've never used them myself but from what I've heard from other people the crosshair alignment on the Hayes sounds great on paper, but not quite so useful in practise.
