4/24/2026 9:25pm Can you please not drag your abrasive views on world situation into every damn topic? We're talking about bikes not world politics. As for the new Demo and Sram drivetrain thingamajiggy, will it be available for other brands besides Specialized too? Does it circumvent DWs twochainz patent?

4/18/2026 10:53am The extra power doesn't appeal to me at all. What i want is a lighter ebike, and I'm happy to put in more effort to achieve it. What is a non-negotiable, is range - I have to have the same range as my full fat brothers. For these reasons, a Fuel+ appeals to me much more than any of these Avinox bikes. Am I missing something? I've not seen any light (sub 45lbs) Avinox ebikes?

4/16/2026 10:47pm If you draw a free body diagram you’ll find that the forces are the same for a given A2C length. Stiffness doesn’t change forces applied. Dual crown rated mostly means that it won’t instantly be destroyed if a fork bumper hits the side of the frame.

4/13/2026 8:45pm I have a pair of the very first TLD skyline camo pants, so that makes them about 5 yrs ago, it is my most worn pant and they are starting to pill a bit, but im shocked how long they've lasted...it was a product I wanted to bring to market for a while and we moved fast during covid to get them to market, at $109 at the time, it was good value and they fit a lot of body types well. I left TLD in 2022, but still a fan of the brand---now that being said, we had a...

4/7/2026 8:53pm PS. New saint flat pedals releasing later this month…. Except they are from 2021, when they first released and then quickly got shelved because the axles were breaking. So they finally updated the axles, only took five years 😂

4/4/2026 11:11am Last year, for one of my engineering classes I did a simulation in Ansys titled “The influence of the axle diameter on the torsional stiffness in an USD bicycle fork”. It was an exercise more focused on Ansys, not on being scientific, but still the results were interesting. Here’s a link to the presentation . TLDR: 20mm was only 4% stiffer

4/1/2026 9:14am Im just being an annoying ME now but porous ceramics are a thing except they are sintered from larger diameter media, under much less heat and pressure, and make great filtration devices. Porous media has not only gas but at most times liquid permeability of which ceramic pistons that we are discussing do not. These are most likely manufactured via hot press method that results in a non-porous but poor surface finish alumina or yttria ceramic oxide that's commonly called zirconia. I work with high performance ceramics for both filtration and high strength hard on hard seal applications. But from...

3/30/2026 12:07pm Pal had a couple pairs of old XT brakes that were well, well, WELL overdue for some loving. Swapped out the caliper pistons to the Exnavi phenolic units I've used in the past with great results. While cleaning things, I got to thinking. (We can blame that on the 91% iso fumes.) As we've all seen Shimano fluid get horribly dirty, like stupid beyond belief dirty, I started looking a bit more at these cal pistons. Ceramic jobbers, porous. You can see crap built up in the pores (not the best photo work, sorry), but one thing that piqued me...

3/21/2026 10:12pm The public has spoken, they prefer skinny downtubes over better handling. Even though many have documented that lowering the weight in this place is very noticeable and in a good way. My personal opinion is that Bosch should offer a skinny 800 (or more) battery to match what Avinox is doing as an option for the manufacturers. They can still offer the fat 800 if they prefer. I'm susceptible as well to the fashion statement. I wanted a 600w battery and I didn't want my bike to look pregnant and obviously be an e-bike. If the LTe had a narrow...

3/21/2026 10:06pm It's 100% being shown in April/ May time frame. My dealer told me that I'd only be able to get one around August and even then in the highest build kits. It's also 170/ 180. I choose to order a new Wild with a Bosch CXR because it suits my needs fine, I'll have it in < 3 weeks, and the price was actually pretty bonkers (good). Also, apparently Bosch is going to match Avinox power levels soon but that's not something that I care about personally. Keeping an e-bike running long term is a real thing and Avinox right...

3/21/2026 10:54am Correct, though as of last year Float X2 is no longer twin tube and has moved to a mono-tube design. We kept the X2 designations to help the majority of riders understand what product relates to what category and what adjustments they can expect on the product.

3/21/2026 10:54am The new air shaft and dampers are backwards compatible for 40 - a new air spring/damper will take some different setup guidance than on the new fork due to air volume changes with the new chassis so "suggested settings" may not apply. If you are ever confused by what Model Year your product is you can look it up the serial number on tech.ridefox.com. Your gold fork would be considered Model Year 25 (Calendar Year 2024).

3/19/2026 9:30pm Riding in the same SoCal conditions... The Maven-esque feel does go away with the B1 cam in the A1, making them feel run of the mill except they still keep all the extra power. I haven't felt getting to that power is more difficult, but that's due to the trails I've ridden. So far I've maxed out at maybe 80% power usage. We'll see as I get a chance to ride harder braking trails. I noticed the same thing about the contact point needing to get wound out more than before. That has to be due to the different leverage...
