The RS version of the Genie could be really good or an improvement. My problems with the Fox version were mostly lack of adjustments, real useable LSC, and any HSC adjustment. Running one band but adding some HSC to reduce how quickly the Fox blew through the travel could be cool.
I want to believe, but the schwalbe radial magic mary is just sooooo good

If you had asked me a couple of weeks ago, "What are the chances you buy a Yeti in the next 6 months?" I would have said 0%. Today, 80%.

Gobstopper Added a reply to Assegai no grip zone

This last few comments are very spot on. I've recently put on an Assegai after 2-3 seasons exclusively on a DHR 2 upfront. For me, the all around grip is much higher with the Assegai but I sometimes lack the sharp bite mentioned when you engage the DHR 2 side knobs. I think this tradeoff is worth it after some...

Posting this here because it seems more bikeonomics related than tech rumours related, but it's sort of in reply or brought about to the discussion going on over there. I'm curious about eMTBs's impact on the MTB "market cap", whether you want to measure that by industry dollars or total number of riders or some other metric ("rider cap?"). I don't think this can be answered decisively as we haven't had enough years of clean data (setting aside any data-gathering difficulties or whether that's really happening industry wide) in the sense that eMTB has really only taken off recently in...

It will be interesting to see where they end up with as far as the new Enduro... Do they follow the new Demo like some think or refine what is still considered a capable bike?

I've run Live Valve on both an Epic Evo and a Spec Enduro. I think they both have a good place. On the 170mm Enduro, I really like the ability to setup the shock for the best downhill performance. For me this means running a slightly softer spring rate (coil), less compression, etc. that might normally feel pretty bad for...

Just like GP forums, I swear. Where's that new specialized again? Patent for the 170mm design lodged in 2023 iirc. Enduro is going through a multilayered image crisis, but still the largest segment of bikes within my friend group. Meanwhile dual sus single crown overall still seeing plenty of updates. Did rider perception/wants/needs change or should the definition of enduro bike be malleable and rhyme with mall fountain?

How many new enduro bikes have been released in the last year or so? Sure feels like at least from a product perspective, options are pretty limited these days. Seems like there’s a lot of 160-170 bikes that are 4-5 years old. Megatower, Spire, SB160, Slash. I guess the Firebird, Rallon and Nomad are fresh.
