you all understand not one of these motors is able to sustain that amount of power and it's only for short bursts, right?

That’s an awesome plan. Morzine/Les Gets is perfect for mixing park laps with XC and big alpine views, and then you can pivot to Geneva/Annecy for the culture side. Late July through August is prime season. If you line it up with the Haute-Savoie UCI-DH round, that would be epic. Just book early since race week fills up fast. From Morzine you’ve got easy access to Les Gets, Avoriaz, and even Champery, so tons of variety. We used loveholidays on a past Euro trip and found decent deals, but Alps peak season goes quick. Hard to go wrong with that...

Can't say I've any time on Mavens, period (Wisco Pride n all) but this highlights why I never buy 1st gen anything. There's things you learn in development, then there's things you learn in the field after release. What's acceptable to the folx on payroll (lever feel/input here) may not be acceptable to the wider market. A smaller MC piston will provide a lighter touch when pushing bigger caliper pistons, but it necessitates longer throw due to fluid displacement in the system. There's no way of circumventing that because physics. So it looks like Magura has something right with the...

Depending on the exact suspension u are using going up in spring rate and progression will mimic Enduro bike setup fairly easily for little to no extra cost. Saint mech can deal with 36t cassette just fine too. Slide the saddle forward and nose down, and you are good to go.

I’m seeing this a little late, but could probably chin in on the topic - a Saint mech can take more than a 36t cog, I’ve seen people using it on a 40t. I’ve also seen a guy running a Zee mech on a 42t cog, this was the limit! Wink Pretty sure that a Saint can work on an 11-40 cassette problem-free. Smile

Bacon strips were always hit and miss, for me. Dynaplug however, that system works great. Bonus points for the applicator threading into the base of a OneUp tool thingy that fits into a pump. This CB plug looks like it'll work a lot like Dynaplugs.

Great article Luis. I’m also a long time user of Motion Instruments for my RSR Bikeworks business and a BYB user for my Scott DH team work. Both systems are great, but MI edges it for customer setup days I think. As said by others, the data between the two systems is quite different, so not relatable. Probably to do with the sample rates. I do actually use max compression and rebound speeds to ‘tune’ the HSC and HSR. Then also use the average speed function to ‘tune’ LSC and LSR. Then use the 95% to balance front to rear...

Here's my take on how to select power. If you want to ride the normal, bike-specific trails you're used to pedaling, an SL or mid-powered bike will probably suit your wants/needs. If you're looking to venture out to new zones, explore, and/or ride trails that you could never make it up without hiking, full power is probably what you're after. You might also prefer full power if you want to turn fire roads into high-speed bike shuttle climbs. As someone who has owned both full and mid-power bikes, you can make most insane climbs with a mid-power bike; you're just...

Hello brake nerds. I subjected my partner and best friend to a year of brake swaps to get their opinions. We made a low production value video talking about our thoughts. I would also like to contribute some brake info because I actually took the time to disassemble and measure the master cylinder diameters. Really interesting how different the Lewis and Hayes feel with identical hydraulic specs. Lever geometry, leverage curve, return spring rate, seal friction, and pad compound all add up. Also I feel like formula would make a few running changes and be competing with the top dogs...

We've done this holiday as a family group several years in a row now. Wife, daughter and friends love morzine town as there's loads to do, nice little shops, cafes etc. Lots of off bike outdoor activities too - big public pool, tennis, via ferrata, white water rafting. I tend to get about 3 days riding and 3 days family time. At that point in the season, trails will be heavily braking bumped, big queues for super morzine area. Chatel has pretty serious airtime if that's your thing. As others have said Champerey is amazing, but takes a while to...

Hey, I live in Chatel year round and have been here since 2012. If all you want to ride is bikepark then stick to your plan but definitely add Morgins to the list. You can access Morgins from Mossette lift and then get back by riding into Chatel village and taking a bus back to the Chatel bikepark. If you're interested in riding the lesser known but amazing singletrack around the PDS let me know and I'll show you around on my days off. I've also built +30 trails in between Chatel and la chapelle, some of which was used...

The pendulum swings every few years from bigger long days, to shorter days. I wonder if there is a better way for us and other promoters to build our courses so that we're not just waiting for folks to get tired of a format. Montana Enduro (❤️) chimed in in the thread talking about this as well. Internally we're considering bringing in some "Imperfect" venues (And some perfect ones, just to be clear) as a means of mixing it up. Some of these venues are just going to have shorter stages and less vert by nature of their topography, and...

Primoz, my guy… I think you are WAY over exaggerating what it takes to swap coils inside a fork. You can do it in a parking lot with a few tools and a few minutes. Just because it can be done in a sterile laboratory with fancy tools doesn’t mean that’s how it has to be done every time.

I went to Morzine in 2023 and 2025 a week each time, I found Morzine to be a good base for sleeping as you can go very easy to les gets or go Up to super Morzine and the rest. plenty of good places to eat too. the trails in les gets in general are bikeparky obviously but there are alot of very cool off piste trails. went to Pila to times in my Life also, very good trails too but there is less to do in the town
