JankyEric Added a reply to Sea Otter Classic - 2026
4/18/2026 11:19pm The podium has equivalent axle to crown to most other 29er fork. Just looking at Neko's podium I would assume the 140mm number is referring to the height of the fork being equivalent to 140mm 29er fork which would mean he only has room for 110-120mm of travel before the tire would hit the top of the fork.

4/18/2026 10:48pm From what I heard/ my own experience setting up the podium for 32, Neko's fork is only about 115-120mm travel and has the axle to crown height of a 140mm fork. He's most likely done this to keep the bb height and head angle in check, especially with the 29er rear wheel adding height as well.

2/28/2026 11:37pm Completely agree. I have ridden and raced the eddy current front quite a bit in 2.6 and 2.4. I found much better loose over hard performance and more predictable behavior than the magic mary in corners. Way better wet rock and root performance too with the large center blocks. I think in my experience I would put it somewhere between...

2/28/2026 11:29pm Just dropping in to give the Eddy Current front some love. Grabbed a trail casing/ultra soft 2.4" on a whim and have been pleasantly surprised. Magic Mary has been my go to for a while and the Eddy seems to clean up some its short comings. It does a better job with hardpack, feels like it rolls a bit better and other then really sloppy conditions, overall grip is on par. The biggest difference I noticed, the eddy does not share the mary's snap grip tendency when regaining traction when it drifts or is at the edge of grip. I...

2/24/2026 9:45am Well, the name Bike Yoke kind of already answers your question, doesn't it? 😉 We want to honour our roots, so we stuck with the name, although we are more known for other things now. The Yoke for Specialized bikes was our first product. I had previously been with Bionicon, yes. I was there from 2010-2018 as suspension and frame designer. For Bionicon I had used the 90° rotated eyelet already to create a shock extension and then we used the same idea to allow the use of normal shocks on Specialized bikes.

2/20/2026 11:06am I had to look that old enduro up to figure out how it worked. They used a notch machined into the shock. And then later went to the proprietary bolt on version. Which i believe led to BikeYoke making their first yoke. @Sacki is the specialized yoke the origin of Bikeyoke? Previously you were with Bionicon? https://www.pinkbike.com/news/bike-yoke-suspension-link-is-good-news-fo…

2/19/2026 8:10pm Some serious stoner thoughts here lol. They are sideways because they have to be. With the eyelet in the orientation you are talking about, it would effectively have a hinge in the middle of the shock, and it would "buckle" or rotate between the yoke and shock under compression. Just set your bike on the ground and install the clevis...
JankyEric Added a reply to Nerding out on Brakes shall we? Not another tech deraliment
2/18/2026 11:34pm Thanks! I would be very curious how a set of formula brakes with 9mm master cylinder (instead of 10mm) and also with a few more threads cut on the reach adjust to allow more range of adjustment, would stack up against the Mavens etc. The brakeace was interesting to try but they only had the clunky android app at the...

2/12/2026 12:16pm Hello brake nerds. I subjected my partner and best friend to a year of brake swaps to get their opinions. We made a low production value video talking about our thoughts. I would also like to contribute some brake info because I actually took the time to disassemble and measure the master cylinder diameters. Really interesting how different the Lewis...
JankyEric Added a reply to Grassroots Enduro... Where Should It Go?
2/1/2026 4:18pm Chiming in to say that I've been a huge fan of Race Cascadia since I did my first enduro at capitol forest in 2015. I was a high schooler and riding a $500 hard tail. My brake pads wore out, my chain broke, it was ridiculously muddy and I got last place. I was hooked. I also got to race...

4/22/2022 6:22pm Thanks! Yeah we learned our lesson on that one. We tried to do our research ahead of time... but there were no rules posted anywhere. I guess they didn't expect anyone to ever try hahaha.

3/6/2022 11:57am Solid design! I made and sold a bunch of these idler pulleys for Forbidden bikes using a SRAM 16t chainring. I've just sold out of them and was thinking about a similar design for my next batch. https://jankcomponents.com/products/steel-idler-pulley-kit-forbidden-dr…
