3/28/2024 6:34pm What a depressing set of comments today. Biking is a hobby, people can enjoy it as they wish. Get over yourselves and let people be happy. Complaints about other peoples opinions are not tech rumors.

3/28/2024 6:32pm reach changes about 20 to 25mm between sizes. If you truly are sensitive to it by feel, that might be annoying if it puts you right between sizes. Choose another brand if thats the case but for every person that puts off, its brought another rider in. also remember reach is measured to the top of the head tube. a 120 head tube plus 30mm stem spacers vs a 150 head tube with slammed stem is going to, with everything else on the geo chart and every other component being equal, be ~10mm shorter and otherwise identical.

3/27/2024 6:15pm Robert from The Loam Wolf here. I was the one who broke the Scalpel, and I’m not surprised I did - overshot the landing of a large jump for an XC bike, landing in the pocket between the landing and the flat ground after it. Huge bottom out. I corrected Kaz at Pinkbike’s quote - he had flatteringly guessed me to be 190lbs, whereas I am 220lbs. Nothing fishy. I wholeheartedly believe the Scalpel is fit for purpose and that it was my fault! Was having far too much fun and got carried away.

3/24/2024 10:39am And if we loop in 50 posts about how much strain our fingers will endure with Lewis' brake levers, we'll have come full circle. My damper is dampening with excitement.

3/23/2024 1:04pm It's Streisand effect. 99% of people wouldn't notice the difference in the bike passing by on the trail. Wrap the same bike in a cover to keep it "secret" and now everyone notices.

3/23/2024 11:53am Reading the riders' statement, I think its important to parse it into two parts. 1) Safety: The riders should have a major say in course safety, features and conditions. This is a totally reasonable thing to aim at being there is a direct connection between the organizers, the riders and course building. If they simply took a stand over this alone, I think they'd have a lot of success getting their way. 2) Pay: The idea that the riders "deserve" something because they are putting their lives on the line unfortunately doesn't hold much water elsewhere in life. I can...

3/23/2024 11:49am Because it's not been posted in here yet, here's the statement from the riders: Dear fans and supporters of Slopestyle. As you will have heard, we, as the full field of male Slopestyle riders at Crankworx Rotorua, have made a joint, but very tough, decision to not take part in official competition tomorrow. But we will be at the event in full support of the girls as they make history, with the first ever female Diamond Slopestyle event. We will also be riding the McGazza train and out there for our fans. Today has been a tough day and there...

3/23/2024 11:46am Without knowing the specifics, I think it's hard to place blame on either side. We don't what the riders currently get and what they're asking for, and we don't know how profitable this event is and weather there really is a lot of money to throw out.

3/23/2024 11:45am Dude, I think you are projecting one event with one person onto an entire group. We all know how that goes. I’ve been lucky enough to meet many many pro riders in my life and all of them have been nothing but incredibly nice. I’m sorry one rider may have laughed at you, but that certainly doesn’t mean they are all ‘mean girls’ or that in reality even that individual is. Also claiming race results as a reason why someone should be nice to you isn’t the flex you think it is.
