Disappointing to see there are still teams willing to support Daprela after what he is alleged to have done. There are a ton of other riders without teams that are almost as fast and come with none of the baggage. I would've thought sponsors would prefer their riders to be fast and good human beings, rather than just fast.

No high pivot, no idler, no flip-chip, no bonded lugs, no belt, no cable tourism, only four bars and a single chain? Will they even be able to ride that thing?

I respectfully disagree. I've been lucky enough to ride many USD vs traditional forks back to back over the years and the differences in torsional stiffness has always been off putting to me, albeit in certain scenarios. i.e. chunky off camber bits, rocky technical terrain where the fork is loaded and precision is key. They can be great in the right conditions, but overall the vagueness is not for me

Yeah, they'll do a great job dialing in compliance, I’m sure of it. They appear to have the resources to alter the bike for both riders preferences and make a stiff bike for Greg and maybe a less stiff bike for Danny. Sometimes it’s not about finding the “right” stiffness for the bike but what the rider believes makes them faster. If a rider believes a stiffer chassis suits their strengths and will help them go faster, then make it stiffer. If they’re happy with the setup and they are correct, they usually ride faster even if it goes against...

remember when danny hart chopped up his GT Fury for more compliance? https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/mtb-compliance-analysis-danny-harts…

Danny Hart's GT Fury caught a lot of attention this past World Cup season as it had some notable structural frame modifications to increase compliance. Dale, Danny's mechanic, is a veteran frame engineer and had some great ideas on how to fine tune Danny's bike to work best for his style and to eke out the literal hundreths of a second needed to win races. If you haven't seen these mods, check out this quick section of Vital's PIT BITS video here. Let's dig into each modification. This will be extra fun because I was fortunate enough to be the...

You’re not posting rumours. You’re just gossiping and stirring. Either post something useful and insightful or don’t bother. The “I’ve got a secret but I’m not telling anyone” is just a bit pathetic and more than childish. It’s fine if you can’t say anything, but if that’s the case just be a adult and shush. This thread is clogged up enough as it is. Lets face it, every major player is working on something so we can all post that quite easily!

I believe the reason damper oil is suggested is the same as fox forks - the damper is auto-bleeding so it can ingest bath oil from the fork leg. The theory is your bath oil could have different qualities that could change the damper performance. In my research servicing mine, there seemed to be consensus that it’s not a big deal to use normal fork bath oil in both sides, provided you’re probably going to get the damper serviced once a year and it’ll be filled with the proper fluid then anyway. I used Fox Gold in mine and haven’t...

Dating someone on the team you own and manage is bad enough, but the fact that he first met Jenna when she was an underage junior racer on his team is beyond creepy. They conveniently started dating the first year she was in Elite. It is an overused term nowadays but that is the definition of "grooming".

I know a couple Junior riders who spent years on the circuit around B-Kiddy and he seems to be the most hated rider out there and it’s not really close. Obviously I don’t know him personally but judging by the general sentiment towards him and the fact that he’s dating his employee w an age gap that wide, it’s probably safe to say he’s a mega questionable dude.

I could care less. But dating a girl who was 17 when she joined your team shortly after she becomes legal, while she still is a part of the team, is pretty questionable and wouldn’t fly in a lot of businesses. Hell plenty of companies would not let you date an employee as a manager if they were 10 years older than you. The age gap just increases the power imbalance. Ultimately if they are happy and stay happy good for them. But there are a lot of young women who get used by irresponsible men making false promises who...
