Conventional wisdom up until a week ago would have said this setup is unrideable and has no place at a World Cup. The fact that they were even in touch with these bikes demonstrates that there are still lots of places to go and things to explore re: bike geometry/fit

So when the braking bumps spread out for 32" do they become moto whoops for smaller wheeled bikes?

I'd be extremely disappointed in the bike industry if they didn't take this opportunity to also introduce a new hub standard. That would be VERY uncharacteristic of them.

So, going to ask this question fully understanding the debates and tech here... So everyone is saying 32" will NEED new/wider hub spacing, especially for DH. WHY? Most companies are designing asymetric rims. spoke tensions are even. now, on top of that, commencal is running 32h rear 28h front. so going down in spoke count. AND most teams are running LESS spoke tension to get better traction (and in turn INCREASE wheel flex). So.... if you take that into account, I see no need to run wider flanges on a 32h asymmetric rim at full tension. Also... most of us...

Bronson and the BMB are awesome. His willingness to come in from a completely different direction and follow through with a project like that in todays world is way cool. I am excited to see how Reece does with the implementation of these ideas at the highest level of DH racing. The Mule is a wild looking bike! This type of thing takes me back to the mid 90's when Tattoo Lou Deangelis showed up with a DH bike that had a KX60 front fork, hub, and disk brake on a custom made DH frame. This was before the Boxxer...

“Radial tires” “The plies are placed at a 65 degree angle” Both of those cannot be true. And, is this 65 degrees from horizontal or vertical?

New Dual Slalom Course - Yay or Nay? Dual Slalom has been kind of controversial with its new location and minimal effort put into the course. Instead of the traditional combo of groomed, deep bowl corners and rhythm lanes mixed with some natural turns, this year is 100% natural, grass turns without a jump or berm in sight. The location, off the DH shuttle road, prohibited any digging due to utility and infrastructure elements underground apparently. Does it feel like a "pro" race? Not really. Is the racing going to be good? Definitely. Today's pro qualifying was exciting and fast...

Psychosis Welding Class Project Not bad for a welding class project! 60-degree static head angle is the play with the philosophy of it living at around 62-63 degrees at sag and cruising up to 66 at bottom out. "I welded the rear end, but my friend, who's a way better welder than me did the headtube. I didn't want that to fail."
