It is not Delrin, and is in fact something very fancy. The red material we use is fundamentally a bronze-filled PTFE product that is designed to act as a bearing, supporting very high loads while having an extremely low coefficient of friction. We machine the material in-house very carefully, as the material alone costs us $278 per foot! 😒

Got no figures to back this up but purely from my memory, Bruni has crashed while being: a) last to drop and b) ahead on split time more than any other racer in history. Thats more of a compliment of how often he actually gets himself into that situation (and that he is so close to the edge of whats possible), rather than a critisism. I don't think he's ever blamed the team, the bike, the components, the mechanic or anyone but himself.

That's a seriously classy goodbye from Eric. Such a bummer to see sponsored athletes who are so intertwined with a specific brand have to part ways due to the current situation.

Power on a 100 foot descent? No. Power when my brakes are wicked hot after trying to slow down my 215 pounds of rumbling bumbling stupidness down a mountain? Yes. You are right, brakes by and large have plenty of up front power. What they lack is power when they get really hot. This is the big variable that changes rider to rider, location to location. I'm heavier, not scared to try and go fast (which is worst than truly being fast) and can find descents north of 2K vert. While the brakes you just listed are all good, I...

" Q2 has worked from the point of view of making qualifying more exciting, but is the race more exciting when top riders aren't in the mix (look at how close Jackson was to missing the big show this weekend)? For me the jury's still out on that one" I want to see the fastest 30/15 riders on a given track compete for the win on equal (or as equal as possible) footing. As soon as you start giving out protected status, qualifying becomes a two tier system. This may sound harsh but I want at least 1 potential winner...

Such a shame that Cami Balanche is stepping away from racing after her brief but spectacular career. How amazing that As a latecomer to the sport she achieved more than so many others have as she joins Rachel and Tracy on the list of recent retirees from the sport which may soon include Miriam as well When Vali stepped up to elites I was fearing domination by her . Though successful She definitely hasn't dominated. I definitely underestimated the strength and resilience of riders like Tahnee and Marine to bounce back from their horrible injuries. As new riders came into...

As someone 5' 9" who test rode a full 29er once, experienced tire buzz, and never rode a full 29er again (other than hardtails) I can confidently say that I will never own a full suspension bike with a 32" wheel. I struggle enough with manuals and some last second jumps on my mullet bike. 29 rear and 32 front for me, and millions of other "average" sized riders would pretty much be a strictly wheels-on-the-ground affair, and that sounds about as fun as watching paint dry, compared to the actual mountain biking we do on a regular basis. For...
