12/9/2025 12:45pm Can I be honest, if I can't just click on one thread and read the entire conversation, I probably won't read the forum at all. I find this thread pulls me in and then when I have more time or I'm curious, I check out other threads. But without this main one, I wouldn't bother visiting vital. Wish it were different but I hope I'm at least helping by giving voice to some other people out there. I enjoy catching up on 6 pages of inane comments to find a nugget of cool rumors. Others might be different.

12/1/2025 3:01pm In honor of the 1000th page, we should vote on the best meme of 2025: 👍🏻 for “Crab” 👎🏻 for “6-7” edit: Carcinization is the antithesis of innovation. Maybe we should keep crab talk on the crab talk forum and keep this thread focused on MTB tech rumors and/or innovation.

10/20/2025 8:08am I do like the idea of having the option to mix "enduro" front and "DH" rear. For example a single crown DH Build or a dual crown enduro build. Nothing revolutionary but people love to tinker around with their bikes, myself included.

9/13/2025 6:56pm The medium does not ride as long as I was expecting it to. I think that Sklars published seat tube angles are totally bogus. Glad you are liking yours!

9/13/2025 6:44pm Lol there is an “electronically assisted strider” in under that persons name on the patent site. Looks like he also did a lot of work for Rocky Mountain.

9/13/2025 2:34am The design would in fact infringe on the FSR patent were it still an active patent. It is both a Horst/fsr and CBF design. Getting the center of curvature on the top of the chainring is possible with many layouts.

9/13/2025 2:22am 1 CBF is dummy easy to do with a Horst link. IMO the kinematics have some advantages over the dual link setup. 2 this looked more like a “Mr. Miller we make you custom sample bike” from an Asian factory rather than something that’s about to go to market. Especially considering market conditions at the moment. However id love to...

8/12/2025 11:43am Apologies if this was already covered, but this was posted then removed on pinkbike. I can't get access to the original article but it is still indexed on google.

5/23/2025 10:32am I heard there was supposed to be a big shimano announcement today, anyone know when it got pushed to? I assume the recent price hike and general market conditions contributed but could be other reasons. Apologies if this has been covered recently, I did a quick search and didn't see anything but haven't been keeping up on this thread recently.

10/7/2024 8:20am Yeah I'd love an explainer of these too. It sounds like the WRP thing requires you to backpedal briefly to engage a freecoaster mode? "Zero Drag" DT Swiss Internals — Williams Racing Products

9/24/2024 3:23pm Go look at inflation, high end bikes have always been expensive. In 2004, an SWorks Enduro was $4800. (Around $8500 today). In 2009, an SWorks Epic was $8800. (Approximately $13,000 today) I don’t understand why everyone suddenly thinks the sky is falling. Next everyone will be complaining that $250,000 for a Huraćan is insane because a Countach used to be $100,000. It’s not like you were going to buy one anyway.

plustiresplusbiddies Added a reply to Carbon rims On enduro style bike, general consensus?
9/4/2024 8:32am There is some conflation between Warranty (manufacturing defect) and Free Crash Replacement (breaking during normal riding) by both wheel brands and us here on the forums. Most people are referring to Crash replacment when they say a wheel has a "good warranty" and frankly any carbon wheel without a free crash replacement is 100% not worth buying these days considering...
