4/5/2025 10:43am Saw the new XTR wireless in person on a bike. Rdr is a lot bigger than cabled, maybe even a tad bigger than transmission. Looks sleek tho. Shifter is also bigger than the sram pods, ergonomics like a normal cable shifter.

4/3/2025 6:17pm Why would you trade a 200 OneUp for a 175 mm Reverb? It makes no sense to me that losing 2.5 cm of drop, having a battery I can hit my knees on, and spending $$$ is worth getting rid of a cable.

4/3/2025 10:34am I'd like a set, but am not willing to jump through the hoops to get them. Hopefully they become more readily available.

4/3/2025 10:31am Nothing screams “claptrap” quite like a stripped-raw production bike that was covered in logos when it left the showroom floor 6 years prior. And if you’re chipping so much paint off of a bike that it looks haggard due to its paint long before the components become outdated enough for those to be the sore thumb sticking out, maybe it’s a personal problem…

4/3/2025 10:30am California and the west coast has long been known for having trail access issues. The implementation of e-bikes have increasingly complicated matters in recent years. Our trail advocacy organizations have fought long and hard for more access by building relationships and trust with land owners. Specialized had long been a big proponent of trail access with programs such as Soil Searching until they recently axed the program due to budget cuts. Now allowing e-mountain bikes to go 28mph on our local trail networks will lose the trust of current partners and kill the possibility of opening up new land to...

4/3/2025 10:29am Just because a bike looks like another one doesn’t mean it will perform equivalently. Think about all the different crab bikes and how differently they perform based on tiny kinematic differences. Brian Cahal recently revied the previous gen of the Norco in an ebike shootout and placed it dead last. Meanwhile, as you say, the Slash+ reviews well.

4/3/2025 10:28am Nothing wrong with a carbon front triangle! In my opinion it's only the rear end that's susceptible to dings and rock impacts that ideally should be alloy.

4/3/2025 10:27am Yep, I got sick of cracking alloy bikes so Been on Carbon only unless the bike i want to test only comes in alloy. Think I've cracked pretty much every alloy bike i've owned except for the new Marin alpine & a merida

4/3/2025 10:27am What do you mean baby a long travel rig? Have you seen what material gravity race bikes have been made from for the last........10 years? I've seen more catastrophically broken alloy bikes in that time, and Pivot/Santa Cruz customers just plain don't want Aluminium anyway

4/3/2025 10:27am I used to be of the same mindset, having just broken an aluminium enduro bike, I'm not so sure anymore.

4/2/2025 7:02pm Just to add some fuel to the fire, it's long been my opinion that nobody should feel entitled to make a living from sport. If you happen to be very good at a sport that also happens to be very popular, you stand to make a lot of money, and bully for you! But that's not a right. If, however, you're very good at an unpopular sport, just enjoy being good at something. If the sport is also dangerous, you also have a risk/reward equation to balance in your head before competing. But nobody's forcing you to take those risks.

4/1/2025 10:34am Technically I don't get paid by SRAM either. They support the Canyon factory team that I am a part of, who pays me. That isn't to say they don't support me, but I don't have a contract with them. Factory teams are generally bolstered by sponsorship deals to increase the budget they have. YT went the route of 'uncaged' which meant they were fitting the whole bill and allowing their riders to run whatever they wanted, not taking any sponsorship money so the riders weren't forced into anything. Or so I understand it. So Jack would still get paid as...

3/31/2025 9:30am After that many years and issues on the same platform, it would have been a good time to rename the Float X2 to Float X3 to try to differentiate it from the unreliable last version 😅
