Maybe a hub that doesn't act like a brake?

But using lube is already wrong. If your going to spend money on that may as well just go straight to immersive wax. 2nd best is liquid wax application (i.e squirt)

OneUp releasing a revised contact plate for their new Clip Pedal. On the one hand, good on them for addressing an issue quickly. On the other hand... really seems like something that should have been caught before the product launch.

what about applying it drunk the night before a ride, spilling half the lube on the floor then wiping the excess off the chain with a rag which is my current go to method?

i can argue in the long run Hope is the best bang for buchk, shigura is dogshit, if the master leaks it goes in the bin, levers are made of cheese so every couple crashes you need a new one, if something happens to the caliper side you can't service that one either, so no, definitely not good value

I can totally envision OneUp's April 1st advert for their new wireless dropper. 'Tired of losing all of that stack height with the other guys' wireless droppers? We at OneUp have the ideal solution... commercial pans to a rider inserting a battery in his anus and looking very uncomfortable, then giving a thumbs up. Then they show a wire going down to the dropper from his riding pants. We have packaged the battery in a simple and environmentally green manner that improves stack height, and also prevents theft! And for the ladies you can now bring a spare battery, 2...

Personally, I find their sizing wonky - new Oso, Ripley, and Ripmo included (read the full post and I'll also explain why their geo might make sense too). While obviously some people who always ride large frames will continue to order the size they normally do without looking at the numbers, I'd wager plenty of people who test ride are sizing down - at least as far as labeled size goes. I looked into the new Ripmo as I searched for a long travel trail bike, but between a long reach (by labeled size) and the not-so-super-steep seat tube angle...

Ok I'll try bring this convo over here and reply to this comment- I really hate to derail this conversation but I must talk about those maven cups. I've always been a fan of the Shimano overnight cup bleed rubber band thing and I thought these cups would help me do the same things to my mavens. Needless to say, it did not work, in fact it made my mavens feel terrible. So I've never used them again and suck with syringes. I think having a bit of positive pressure in the system and "overfilling" it a bit by pushing...

I can't believe we don't have an online conversion kit for reg posts using a servo that pulls the cable at the bottom of the post from anyone. Archer would have set the world on fire with that instead of half mechanical shifting.

Hopefully you've all been being careful when performing maintenance on your brakes, but a couple new studies just dropped reinforcing that inhaling brake dust is bad, mmmkay. No types of dust were good for you, but interestingly one study showed that metallics were less damaging than organics when exposing lung tissue to dust. Either way, I'd encourage everyone to clean their stuff using a wet method to avoid dust generation, and ideally catch the majority of the liquid in a garbage can for proper disposal, because if you just let it dry on the floor of your workshop it can...

Just to give Quick response to those wondering about how trek plans to sell these top level bikes at the advertised price. As someone who works at a shop that sells Trek bikes. If you like you can go through online tutorials program called TrekU and once you have completed enough modules, you are awarded employee pricing where you are able to buy bikes at 30% off cost. I assure you these top level bikes are built to bait newer staff of trek dealers to buy what looks to be an incredible deal. They have no intentions to sell these...

We get messages at least once a month from someone in the desert Southwest who's pissed that we no longer make the Chronicle. I could never get along with plus tires. If I ran the pressures low enough to get a benefit in traction then the tire would fold and roll like crazy even in mellow corners. With enough pressure to provide cornering support, I was getting bounced all over the trail. For me, plus tires offered only downsides. I'm glad they were a relatively short lived fad in our fad obsessed industry.

While I'm here. Is it rude to spread my own rumors? Yesterday I released v2 Digit frames. I don't have a marketing plan so for now I've just posted a list of improvements here: digitbikes.com/blog/changeblog. I'm also going to start selling a frame-only option, and an aluminum wheel build.

Thanks, I will give these Sinter guys a shot. I was always intrigued after reading the Enduro Mag brake shootout and how powerful they are. Also the fact couple of you here are saying they are super silent so these should be the ticket to a peaceful descent. @Pedal Bob There "performance organics" from likes of Trickstuff and Galfer are something special and can't be compared to the organic offerings from SRAM/Shimano. I have faded SRAM metallic pads on our long mountain descents while had zero issues with Trickstuff pads. No change in feel, power and last a long time.

There is no way Jack chose to run Fox/TRP, has to be a forced move. Especially this late before the season. Will be interested to hear the reasoning.

Yep! Gearboxes are THAT BAD that we'd rather put up with all the faffing with chains. j/k. The truth is I've never ridden a gearbox and have nothing against them. I just like making jokes. I'm down to try one as soon as they end up on a bike that I'd be interested in buying, in a price range I want to hit, at a time I'm looking to buy one, and designed with my specific use case in mind.

Historically, Jack Moir not been on rockshox/sram everything and maxxis has not ended up good. Hope he get's those boingers dialled. When Gwin came to intense and the team all swapped to Fox it seemed to unravel his mojo a bit. I hope I'm wrong and Mr Legs comes out swangin.

Shout out big privilege, he's a good dude. Always up at mountain creek, just a normal dude that likes riding bikes (with a rap career). I love that it he brings representation for a minority in our sport.
