1/29/2025 11:19am Pretty sure he just got his hands on one of those bikes and is riding it for fun. I don’t recall ever seeing a sponsorship post just the pictures of him riding one.

1/29/2025 11:18am I know he's an icon of the sport, but he has only been in one WC final since 2023, and that was at the first race in 2023. He's barely made it into the top 50 in semis most races. He's an icon, but sports progress.

1/29/2025 11:18am Good catch. I was a little confused with this so I digged around and found that Emmy Lan is also on the Dunbar team. Those who noted Connor didn't officially say goodbye goodbye could be correct. Maybe forbidden is getting some help with their gravity team this year and no longer are a "factory" team and have Dunbar/ Corsa cycles joining the program for support... Interesting as at this time I don't think Dunbar or Corsa sells forbidden bikes. Both Emmy Lan and Rhys Verner reside in Squamish where Corsa cycles is located...

1/29/2025 10:13am I think Formula started that they had issues with the oval pistons not moving evenly (wonky) due to the seal force not being even all the way around the piston. Round seals have even force. I have a set of Formula RO brakes that I inherited, which have the oval pistons. I need to find the time to rebuild them and see how they perform.

1/29/2025 10:13am It's easy to get seals. And round pegs in round holes seal the best as the pressure is constant around the perimeter.

1/28/2025 10:07am my 2016 knolly warden developed quite significant stiction at the bushings.. lets say that foul weather required a lot of maintenance.. it was fine when freshly serviced but it would get to feel like shit quicker than bearings, may be I had shitty bushings , dont know..

1/28/2025 10:07am Ancillotti did bushings as well, even on the main pivot. I believe they still do. A buddy of mine had one. He needed to break the bushings in, so I believe they come quite tight from the factory and then kind of grind themselves to the right tolerances. He was (is) rather sloppy with bike care, but the bike never creaked or so. Anecdotal, I know, but could hint that with the right execution bushings could work... Edit: just got called out: a) by first friend not approving being called sloppy, b) by second friend wondering how I could have...

1/27/2025 2:56pm 77designz just released their new bar after parting ways with WeAreOne. Looks like they are using the same principle as before with a thinner 33mm bar and a thicker 35mm stem clamping area. Instead of a alloy sleeve it is just thicker layup. Their previous bar was 258g and this new one is 220g. Also much cheaper at 163.85 € compared to 279.95 € before https://www.77designz.com/barlerina

1/24/2025 8:39pm Thirded for Cura 4s. Had multiple sets on several bikes over several years and the only thing they needed was pads when it was time and a bleed if I moved them to/from a frame with internal routing. Hope Tech 4 is like a Cura 4 for maintenance, can find spares and exploded view drawings of parts. Hope use DOT where Formula is mineral oil (used Formula and Pentosin CHF), even more modulation in feel vs Cura, longer levers than Formula (may or may not be a pro/con). Hope has more adjustable levers than Formula which may or may not...

1/24/2025 8:37pm IIRC Max is an Orbea athlete, pretty sure that's the new Orbea DH bike that's been mentioned a few times in this thread. There were a couple posts specifically about Max riding that frame back in Canada. My guess is Orbea gave it to him to see if he could break it doing Max things. Unfortunately for him, he broke...

1/23/2025 9:34am As the originator of freckle gate.... I've got nothing. The top of the shock is clearly visible. I don't know what size bike Bulldog rides but I think he is on the shorter side? The medium TR11 does not have a shock extender so the shock is nestled in the downtube and you wouldn't see it like this. Clearly he is blurring out the mounting points. If he rides a large TR11, then that is an option. Otherwise it could be Ari, Polygon (doubt it), Zerode (unlikely given the components). I also think that based on the original disguised image...
