No probs, happy to share. FWIW, I don't know how it's handled in the current Bronze & co days, haven't had my hands on any of the newer brakes. The situation I described (RSC anodized, R(S) and lower not) applies to Guide and G2 brakes too. And the reason for the difference is that with RSC (and Ultimate) brakes both the master and the caliper are anodized after all the machining, so anodized inside and out. Lower tiers are painted on the other hand and are obviously painted only on the outside.

isnt that a new spire that they are looking at making DH compatible? I remember talking to a Transition sponsored person in QT last year and he said the Tr11 is a bit of a flop. so wonder if the spire will be full 200mm in a DH configuration?

Not trying to be a dick, but what makes you think this is an Orbea? IIRC, the pivot hardware is similar to what transition uses and it has ANVL stuff.

FWIW, in the pre silver/bronze Code days RSC was anodized while everything under it was not. Doing a bleed rsc has clear fluid even after two years while lesser models have a very dirty fluid due to wear of the aluminum bore and suspending the particles in the fluid because of it.

Brook was basically riding for free last year. As much as I love his riding, mid pack 30+ year old riders aren't exactly hot tickets right now

Also on GT, Brage and Tommy G. Where are these two heading to? Surely, Red Bull helmets get you a frame sponsor.

With Mr. Metallier you have to think it's related to the brands not having money for it anymore rather than not wanting to continue the relationship. No idea what he's like to deal with B2B behind the scenes but as far as clicks/exposure/talking up your brand directly to an audience, he's gotta be one of the best, guy's a pro. No surprise to hear he was able to replace them in short order.

This is almost as good as Dan Atherton coming back to chase the belt cash bag. Excellent try for the most ridiculous rumor award. I applaud you sir.

If I recall that brief conversation correctly, Dak was suggesting he was able to run lower pressures than normal with the new casing. My understanding of the way the shwalbe radial's work is you end up running higher pressure. I don't know anything about tires though so maybe they are and its just different.

I wonder if the Pivot crew could swap to a belt from the cranks to the upper drive cogs and still qualify? BK, if you see this and try it, I want a signed photo from Lada.

And unfortunately a junior rider won't get the 100k. It's a prize for Elites.

Just a minute… would that mean, if they used your described configuration, AND won an elite WC, that Gates would give them… TWO hundred thousand dollars?!?

Looping back to the conversation about USD forks given the team rumours announced today. With Reece Wilson’s AOD racing on the Manitou Dorado (supposedly running an Oleo strut shock??), and IFR on the EXT Vaia, and a new model from an named big brand, USD forks are definitely going to be making waves in 2025. At this rate, Honda definitely needs to resurrect the RN01.

I mean, I've cross-threaded a brake mount post on a bike made of swiss cheese before. Wasn't my proudest moment holding a wrench, and it just required a retap. I also saw someone who came in with the bolts sheared into their brake post mount after a "particularly odd" crash. I'm just saying, the more parts are replaceable the better.

I feel like this USD fork talk is kind of funny and sad. Ohlins is dropping out of advancing their mountain bike products, which is pretty telling that suspension is hitting a wall now, like frame design is. Yeah they could do USD on their forks for a few advantages but for what returns? Manitou, Intend, Push, hell, even Cannondale are doing USD forks and successfully for a while now. I think this big company, whether it is Fox or Sram, is hitting their wall and reinventing the wheel. USD will be the next hottest shit on the market because...
